As the more astute among you have already guessed, I write this somewhat belated update to my travelogue from the familiar soils of the United States - in fact, from the familiar carpet of my desk in Harvard Square.

Or rather, they've popped all the buttons on the lederhosen with a dish so staggeringly high in breadcrumbs and low in flavor that I'm not sure how, as a nation, they were ever able to conquer half of Europe.
Their lack of tasty at home might explain why they felt this need.

I believe you have discovered the real reason behind the Austrian-led occupation of Italy, a country whose taste sensations I have already extolled in previous LiveJournal entries.

With only lederhosen and Schnitzel to boast of, it's entirely possible the Austrians invaded Italy and held it only to reassure themselves that other cultures could be both culinarily gifted and very well-dressed.
