Next morning Aiba woke up with the sunlight on his face, when he turned around Sho was already gone. He turned and stared at the ceiling. He loved that man with all is heart, but he couldn't avoid feeling lonely, it was like when Sho came first to Tokyo and he stayed at home, except that this time it was worse because he was there, so close yet so far.
Tear were brimming in his eyes again, he rubbed them quickly to get rid of them and stood up. That day his shift was in the afternoon, so he had time to clean the house a little.
After all the house work was done, he got ready to leave, the ride to the hotel seemed longer than usual or maybe it was just him and his mood. As usual once he got to the station he saw Jun who was chatting with Miki-chan, his girlfriend, while waiting for him.
"Aiba-chan" Miki shouted excited and waving at him
"Miki-chan! Long time no see." Aiba said smiling to the tiny girl in front of him
"I know, school keeps me busy but today I told Jun I wanted to say hi" the girl looked the clock on her wrist "Now, I got to go! See you guys!" she gave Jun a peck on the lips and ran inside the train.
"So, shall we go?" Jun said smiling to Aiba who only nodded as a response
"Aiba-chan..."
"Yeah?"
"Did you talk with Sho-kun? You look just like yesterday and..."
"I don't know what to say to him Jun-chan. I mean, he's busy and he's doing well in the law firm. I don't want to distract him with my complains or my complexes"
"What you mean?" Jun asked concerned "He is your boyfriend, and you're not ok. He should know that, and you should find a way to work things out. Work isn't all and both of you should keep that in mind"
"But..."
"But what Aiba-chan? What's bothering you?"
"What if he decides he doesn't need me besides him? I don't want him to think I don't support him and to leave me. I know he's been working so hard for it and... I'm afraid he'll think I'm not good enough for him"
Jun hugged Aiba and patted his back.
"Aiba-chan, that's not true. He could never find anybody better than you, and he's an idiot if he doesn't agree. You should value more yourself"
"Thanks"
"No need. Now let's go or we'll be late!"
The afternoon went with no problems, that's why everybody preferred this shift, the guest would sign in and out in the morning so normally all they had to do during the afternoon was to handle some keys and pick up the phone.
Some hours later, he heard his phone ringing, and he couldn't stop an smile when he saw the name in the screen.
"Sho-chan?"
"Masaki, I've been promoted!"
"Wow! Really? Congratulations, you deserve it!"
"Thank you! Ah, there will be some kind of party next Friday to announce it officially, will you come?"
"Eh? But you know I'm not good with that kind of things"
"I want you to come with me, this is important for me"
The seriousness in Sho's voice scared Aiba, and all that he feared started to materialize in front of him again.
"Sure I'll go"
"Thank you! Ah, gotta hang up, see you later"
"Yeah, bye!"
Aiba stayed staring at his phone, he was so happy for him, it was what he was working so hard for, and he wanted to support him anyway he could. But he was scared to make illusions, and then Sho'd change of opinion ashamed about Aiba.
"Was it him?"
"Yeah, he's got a promotion"
"That's good, right?"
"Yeah, he's worked so hard for it"
"I see, then tell him congratulations from my part"
"Thank you Jun-kun, I will"
He didn't tell Jun anything about the party, part of him was afraid that Sho would change his opinion about it after thinking it better.
He tried to focus on his work for the rest of the evening, trying to avoid let his thought and fears.

SHO'S POV-
He woke up, with the sound of his alarm, and turned it off quickly to not wake up Aiba. He turned around to look at him sleeping peacefully and then memories of the previous night came to his mind.
The uneasiness of Aiba when he tried to kiss him, he wondered if he was ok or he was neglecting him too much. One thing was for sure, the time they had spent together for the past few months was minimum and none of them was happy about it or at least he wasn’t, he hadn’t hear Aiba complaining about it not even once… but sometimes life gets on the way and there was nothing they could do, or so he said to make himself feel better.
"I'm sorry Masaki, but you'll see how things will get better. I need to work hard to give you all you deserve" he whispered trying not to disturb his boyfriend sleep.
He stood up and headed to the shower, to get ready for work. He prepared coffee and quickly went out.
Once in the office Sho headed to Nagase san's private office and knocked the door softly.
"Come in" he listened and then opened the door
"Oh, Sakurai! I'm guessing you made your decision?"
"Yeah, I-I accept sir, I'll be thrilled to take the promotion"
Nagase stood up to shake his hand
"Good decision, so let's celebrate it. Friday, let's have a dinner party so you can start relating with our bigger clients"
"Ok, sir. I just want to say thank you so much for this opportunity, I promise I won't let you down"
"I trust in you Sakurai, make us proud. You have a big future kid"
Sho smiled at that, he liked to know his sacrifices were paying results
"Now if you excuse me sir, I have to make a call"
Nagase nodded in acknowledgement and Sho headed out.
As soon as Sho headed out of the office, he took his cell phone out, he had wanted to let the other know about it the previous night, but he fell sleep before he could tell anything. Before he could dial Aiba's number he was called to a meeting and almost the whole day had passed before he could call his boyfriend to let him know the news.
As soon as he sat inside his office and closed the door, he dialed Aiba's number, he has been wanting to tell him since the previous day, and he wanted to ask him to accompany him to the party. It was so important for him, and he wanted to share it with his boyfriend.
As he expected, the other congratulated for it, and told him he deserved it. He was so happy to know the other was supporting him, but what he wasn't expecting was Aiba's answer when he asked him to go with him to the party. He wanted so bad to go with him, it was something important for him. At the end, the other assured him he'd go, but he couldn't help but thinking there was something weird with the other, and he started to wonder if it was his fault.
