Friday came faster than expected for Aiba, he was sitting in the kitchen drinking his coffee after waking up alone for nth time.
He was starting to doubt if he should accompany Sho to the party, he didn't even know if he had a proper outfit for that, and sure he didn't want to make Sho look bad.
He headed to work, and of course Jun was already waiting for him. He could see Miki-chan running inside the train while waving at him and he smiled at her waving back.
"Let's go!" said Jun and both of them headed outside the station.
"What's with you now?" the younger man asked noticing something was wrong with his friend.
"Nothing" Aiba said giggling wondering how bad he looked every day that his friend kept asking him things like that.
"You know? Sho-chan has a party today at his office, to celebrate his promotion" he said emotionless.
"Wow! That’s great...isn't it? Jun tilted his head a bit looking at his friend "but then why you seem worried?"
"I dunno, I meant sure there'll be lots of fancy people, so I don't fit there..."
"Oh shut up!" Jun said annoyed by the lack of confidence of his friend "Ok, I have never told you but when Miki met you she was all fascinated with "how handsome" my co-worker was, it was annoying" Jun giggled “So trust me, you have nothing to worry about, you're an awesome person to be around, so shake those silly thoughts and go to the party, have some fun with your boyfriend and enjoy yourself!"
Aiba turned around and hugged his friend surprising him.
"Thank you Jun-kun!, I'll go and I make sure Sho has a great time"
"Wait! I didn't say that, I said you and him have a great time, you don't go just for him to have a good time, but you too and for you to be together got it?"
"Ye-yeah, you're right!" Aiba knew Jun was right so he decided at least for tonight he would let himself enjoy as much as possible for him and especially for his boyfriend.
The morning was strangely calm, with the exception with a few guest and some calls, when suddenly the manager came to the reception in company of a young boy, Aiba had no idea who he was, but judging by the way the manager was treating him, he should be someone important.
"Gentlemen" said the manager addressing Jun and him "Please make sure Mr. Ninomiya's stay is pleasant"
"Of course, Okada-san. We'll make sure of that" Aiba said smiling, after hearing this, the manager said his goodbye to Ninomiya and went back to his office.
"Ninomiya-san, here's the key of your room, the bellboy will take your luggage to your room, if you need anything don't hesitate to call the reception" Aiba said smiling at the young boy, trying to figure how old might he be.
"Thank you...what's your name?" Nino replied pointing the tag name on Aiba's shirt
"Aiba Masaki, Sir"
"Well Aiba Masaki, nice to meet you. By the way you have a nice smile" Nino reply in a flirty way before turning around and walking away leaving a slightly blushed Aiba behind.
"What was that?" Jun laughed once Nino disappeared behind the metal doors of the elevator.
"I have no idea" Aiba replied laughing and both of them let go of the subject when the reception phone rang.
Finally, their shift was over so after changing back to their normal clothes, they walked together towards the station as every day. As they were about to part ways and wave their goodbyes Jun turned to Aiba.
"Have fun tonight Aiba-chan, and don't think too much, ok?"
"Thanks, I'll try"
As Aiba reached home he went to take a shower to get ready, he wanted to look good that night and cause a good impression, and he didn't want to embarrass Sho in front of his work mates or his bosses.
For his luck, Sho had already picked a suit and a tie for him in the morning before leaving, so he didn't have to worry about what to wear.
After the shower and getting dressed, he found himself looking to himself in the mirror with anxiety. He laughed at himself, thinking he was like a woman and that he had nothing to worry about. As he was about to leave he got a call from Sho.
"You ready?"
"Yeah, was about to leave"
"Take a taxi, and let me know when you're arriving, I'll wait for you in the door, ok?"
"Sure"
Somehow, the tone of the call made him smile, he knew Sho was a little anxious about the whole promotion, and he promised himself to do his best to cause a good impression. But he was still worried about embarrassing Sho and about how will Sho address him in front of the rest. Will he openly say he's his boyfriend? Maybe he didn't want the rest to know about that so people wouldn't judge him.
As Sho had promised, he was waiting on the door of the building for Masaki. It was a huge building, with an elegant looking hall, somehow, it made him proud to think Sho worked in a place like this. As they got inside, Sho hugged Aiba and thanked him for coming after telling him just how hot he looked in a suit. Aiba's smile couldn't be any wider; it made him happy to know the other still cared about him.
They got inside the building, passing by a lot of people congratulating Sho, he smiled and thanked everyone. Aiba felt extremely proud of how far his boyfriend was getting thanks to his hard work and it made him really happy to see that sparkle in Sho's eyes, though at the same time, his insecurities came back, making him wonder if he could be at the level to stay on his boyfriend side.
As if Sho could read his mind, he reached for his hand grabbing it, and squeezed it a few times, while he turned to look at him
"I love you" Aiba said almost in a whisper, making sure no one but Sho could hear.
"I know" Sho replied leaving Aiba a little unsettled, it wasn't the first time he did that. Lately, every time he would say that he loved him, Sho would never reply with an "I love you" back, it wasn't that it really mattered but it did add more to Aiba's insecurities somehow.
Sho squeezed his hand one more time.
"Are you ok?" Sho asked.
"Yeah" Aiba replied smiling trying to take those thoughts away.
"Give me a minute, my boss is calling me" he said pointing out in direction to a group of three men.
"Sure"
He saw Sho going away, and he could see him turning around to smile at him before he reached his boss, he decided to take a drink while he waited for his boyfriend to come back.
Aiba stood in a corner of the place while drinking; looking around to many people that looked sophisticated and important made him feel small. He was nobody compared to all that people, and he was still wondering if he should be there. But he was glad he came and saw that look in Sho's eyes, just for that he didn't mind the awkwardness.
He kept looking at Sho talking with all that people in suits, he really looked like an important person... well, he was an important person.
He saw Sho coming in his direction so he tried to smile to him, trying to hide his uneasiness.
"Masaki, come, wanna introduce you some friends"
Aiba took a deep breath and allowed Sho to drag him towards the guys he was talking to before; he wanted to cause a good impression for him.
"Ohno-kun, Nino-kun, this is Aiba Masaki, my boyfriend"
Boyfriend? Aiba was stunned for a minute, but he couldn’t describe how happy he was that Sho introduced him like that.

SHO'S POV:
Sho had been trying to make time to celebrate just with Aiba about his promotion. Somehow, he was noticing Aiba different the whole week, even if the other always tried to show him cheerful side. He wondered what was worrying the other and even more, why he wouldn't tell him.
It had been a busy week, he was moved to a bigger office and he had to sign all the papers for his new position, a part of the cases he was managing at the moment. So Friday came before he could notice and he hadn't managed to get a moment with Aiba. Somehow, it had become a normal situation between them.
Before he left the house in the morning, he left a suit with a matching tie for Aiba to use for the party, he didn't want the other to worry about what to wear later.
He pulled out of his closet the suit he will wear at the party, he wasn't sure if he could come back home in time for change, so he wanted to be prepared.
As he expected, the day at the office was hectic, he had spend almost all morning in the courthouse, and his assistant just called him to let him know Nagase-san wanted to go an important lunch with him and some clients. He looked the time and barely had time to make it to the restaurant.
Once he got there, he quickly was leaded to one of the private sections, where his boss was in company of 5 other man and a younger guy.
"Everyone, here's the rising star of the firm, Sakurai Sho" Nagase-san announced with pride.
"Good afternoon everyone, nice to meet you" Sho greeted them and quickly was introduced one by one, until they got to the younger boy
"Sakurai, this is Ninomiya-san, he's the vice-president of Ikuta Corporation."
Ikuta Corporation was the biggest client for the law firm, Sho knew it very well and he knew he needed to impress this man. He caught his attention, he didn't seemed older than a teenager, but of course he kept those thoughts for himself.
"Ninomiya-san, a pleasure to meet you"
"Please call me Nino, and the pleasure is mine. I was really curious to meet Nagase's firm star" he said chuckling "Plus is always nice to have a fresh face around here, right gentlemen"
Everyone laughed at that, making Sho feel a little more relaxed.
The lunch went smoothly, and took a little longer than expected, so by the time he got to the office he barely had time to change his clothes and call to his boyfriend making sure he was ready, he was very excited he could show him the place where he worked and introduced him to his work-mates.
He waited for Aiba to arrive outside the building; he didn't want the other to pass through going to the party floor all by himself. After 10 minutes, he saw him appearing and come towards him. He looked awesome with that suit, like a total different person, but at the same time he looked totally like him.
As Aiba got closer, he saw his amazed look at the building, and he was glad he had asked him to come. He had been wanting to show him all of that for a long time, and this was the perfect occasion.
He could see the anxious look on Aiba's face and he grabbed his hand, squeezing it as his way to remind him that he was there and that he had nothing to worry about. But somehow, for a moment he couldn't react to the other "I love you", it was happening lately, so he just replied with an "I know". He loved him, of course, but somehow, he couldn't bring himself to say it lately.
A little after entering the hall, he saw his boss calling for him, he felt bad about leaving Aiba alone, but he had to head towards him, after promising Aiba that it wouldn't take too long.
After a little, Nagase-san left them and Sho stayed there for a little more, casually chatting with Ohno and Ninomiya.
"So, is he here? Who is he?"
Ohno had been asking Sho to introduce him his boyfriend for a long time, he knew the other was curious about it.
"Who is "he"?"
It was Nino asking them.
"Ah, "he' is Sho-kun's boyfriend, he said he was bringing him today. So where is he?"
Sho chuckled softly about that before heading towards Aiba. He saw him in a corner slowly drinking from his glass. He felt sorry for abandoning him. As he got closer, he saw the other smiling at him.
"Masaki, come, wanna introduce you some friends"
He grabbed his hand and pulled him towards where Nino and Ohno were standing. Ohno was smiling at him widely.
"Ohno-kun, Nino-kun, this is Aiba Masaki, my boyfriend"
He saw Aiba's surprised expression before vowing and he couldn't help but finding it adorable.
"I'm Aiba Masaki, nice to meet you"
"Oh, aren’t you the hotel guy?"
Sho didn't get that part, did Nino already knew Masaki? He couldn't think how they could know each other.
