Summary: What happens when young Jun decides to confess his feelings towards Sho? Setted in the beginning of the " Ice Age"

**10 years ago**
It was a cold winter night, Jun picked up his cellphone and opened up to read once again the message he had received hours ago and that he had spent hours reading over and over again.
“You’ll find someone great one day that will love you and will give you all that you deserve. And you’ll look back and won’t even remember my name”
He smiled bitterly at that, tears rolling down his cheeks while he let fall on the bed, curling up and completely breaking apart.
“But I want you” he said almost in a whisper
He knew he had been dumb to think someone like Sho would ever return his feelings, he had fought with himself to keep his mouth shut after all the previous times he had told the older man about it -the same times he had been rejected- and all the troubles it had brought, after how much it took him to be at easy with that, with the conflict it was to be in love with a boy, who happened to be his close friend and band member.
It was dumb to brought the subject back, he knew it, yet he couldn’t avoid to hope that in some moment and for magical reasons there could be a slight chance, but this was Sho after all, he was straightforward and Jun knew that he never would give him hope, that Sho rather to keep his distance, restricting any kind of affectionate action in order to not be misunderstood it by him. Because that was what the older man though was the right thing to do, and once Sho made his mind about something nothing could make him think otherwise.
It was long time since Jun had cried this much, with so many desperation and sadness. He tried to stop his tears, he had promise himself not to cry for the matter again, but he couldn’t help it.
He didn’t know how much time had passed when he felt a presence in the room, he didn’t want to talk with anyone, so he tried to pretend he was sleeping, and he could fool anyone but his best friend, who sat on the bed next to him and put his hand over his arm rubbing it softly trying to give him warm.
“Jun, you’re shaking” The other man said softly.
Jun opened his eyes while a silent tear ran down his face.
“What are you doing here Nino?” Jun asked without turning to look at him.
“What happened?” Nino asked ignoring Jun’s question while he took off his jacket and placed over his friends body “You’re freezing”.
As all response, the younger man stretched his arm, handing the cellphone to his friend, who took at and immediately started to read.
“Jun…” was all he said putting the cellphone away and sitting one more time next to him and pulling him close.
They weren’t the emotional, lovey-dovey kind of friends, but they had known each other for a long time by now, plus the age gap was almost inexistent so they grow very close. Nino specially, wasn’t fond on public displays of affection, yet he had never seen Jun like that.
They stayed like that, Nino holding up his friend while Jun let his tears flow freely, leaving his friend’s shoulder wet with his tears, until he fall sleep. Nino covered him up with a blanket and left the room to make a call.
“How is he? ” Ohno asked on the other side of the line
“’He’ll be ok” Nino replied serious “Oh-chan let’s not told anyone about this ok? I call you later”
“Don’t worry Kazu” the older guy replied before hung up.
Luckily for them, they had some days off before start the promotion of his most recent single, Nino stayed with Jun making sure the other guy was ok, it surprised him to see Jun so recovered the next day, tho the sadness in his eyes was something he couldn’t get rid of as much as he pretended that nothing was wrong.
Nino didn’t say anything as much as he wanted to tell him that he didn’t need to pretend in front of him, but he knew best, he knew it wasn’t because of him but for himself that Jun won’t let himself break down again.
While they were having breakfast, Nino couldn’t avoid ask.
“What are you gonna do?”
Jun looked at him, and took a few seconds before he muttered an answer.
“Nothing” he said and took a sip of his coffee “There’s nothing I can do, actually”
Nino kept staring at him.
“I love him and he knows it, probably I will always love him Kazu. But I can’t do anything and is so frustrating because all I want is him to love me back. But I get it, I may not be enough for that to happen, so I just hope someday it’ll stop hurting that much”
Nino opened his mouth trying to say something but he was interrupted by Jun, who continued.
“I’m gonna have to learn to live knowing that you know?, he’s my friend and my band mate and I can’t jeopardize that, because is not just something that affects me, or him for that matter, there’s also you guys and our dream is more important than anything else”
Nino just nodded in acknowledge, knowing that trying to discuss Jun’s decision wasn’t going to take them anywhere, Jun was really stubborn when he wanted to, he also knew there was something else that his friend wasn’t telling him but he couldn’t pin point exactly what it was and only could wait whatever he thought wouldn’t hurt him even more.

A/N: This supposed to be a multi-chapter but think it works better as a one-shot (maybe that's just my impression) let me know if I should continue ^^ slightly based on personal experience
