Aiba was quite surprise when he arrived there and found out they were having breakfast with Sho and his friend. Somehow, he wasn't angry with Nino anymore for waking up like that.
About the guy Nino was interested in, Aiba had to confess he had no objections and was totally Nino's type, they fitted perfectly and Jun was treating them normally, not judging them like the rest (even though Nino had stolen his money the previous night). But Sho was a completely different story, and the way he'd talk to Aiba (if he did it) and the words he would use hadn't changed a bit since the first time they'd talk, and Aiba found himself wondering what had he done to upset that guy that much. Was him that disgusting to get that treat?
Aiba kept smiling the whole time anyway, he had promised himself that he'd never allow himself to get down by what other people may think, but somehow, Sho's words and actitude was hurting more than normally.
The breakfast went smoothly, or as smoothly as it could with Jun and Nino flirting and Sho showing how little he wanted to be there, but at least Aiba was getting some information about Sho. He'd just like the other to not be that hard on him.
"Well, I guess useless people can't. You just go around kicking people and causing problems to your family and the people around you. You don't care about the rest and..."
Aiba was decided to take the whole commentary in and not reacting about it, but Nino just cut in and snapped.
"You have no fucking idea, judging him having no idea, so don't say that shit when you don't know how things are! You don't know him at all! He..."
Aiba patted his friend softly, and smiled to him telling him it was fine. It was not the first time something like that happened, nor would be the last one. It wasn't that it didn't hurt him, and to be honest, there was a part of truth, with all that he did he did nothing but hurting his family, but he didn't regret what happened and never will.
After that, the atmosphere became tense, Aiba didn't really know what to say to live it up, afraid of upsetting Sho again. Luckily, Jun was able to relax Nino again with his talking and soon they were all talking again.
After a while, Nino stood up, followed by Jun who turned to look at his friend.
"I'm skipping, class. Nino is gonna take me for a ride"
Aiba couldn't help but find the shocked expresion on Sho's face extremely cute, and looked at him amused.
"Jun, you cant! We're almost on exam period and..."
"Come on! It’s just a class" Nino interrupted Sho's line and Aiba had to stop himself to laugh of the look Sho gave to his friend.
"It'll be fine, and that's why I have a super smart friend who's gonna help me study. Right?" Jun replied to Sho, who only shook his head as an answer.
Aiba couldn't help but to feel impressed of how responsible Sho was, for sure somebody like him would never date a guy like Aiba. He was surprised at his own thoughts, realizing now how much he was starting to like the other.
Nino and Jun left, leaving the two of them alone, so Aiba saw an opportunity to try to soft things with Sho. For some reason, Aiba found himself really liking him, and he wanted the other to understand him, even if it was just a little.
"Why don't we join them?" he asked already knowing what would be the answer.
"No thank you, and I should get going or I'll be late to class"
Aiba smiled and had another suggestion.
"Ok, then can I walk with you to your building?"
He continued before the other could open his mouth to turn him off.
"You know I'll do it even if you say no, right?”
He saw the other guy, rolled his eyes, before replying.
"Fine!"
They walked in silence all the way to the building, before Sho could escape Aiba spoke
"So, guess I should leave now" he scratched his head when Sho turned around to look at him "Was wondering if I could have your number?"
He gave his best smile in an attempt to convince the other guy, who just looked at him in silence, leaving Aiba standing in front of him nervously waiting for the answer.
SHO’S POV:
They were already in a coffee shop next to the campus and so couldn't stop wondering what had he done to deserve that. Why had Jun to want to meet exactly that guy? And what had that guy to bring Aiba along with him? If his day wasn't bad enough after the previous night, it looked like going even worse.
After the initial greetings he had learn the other guy's name was Ninomiya, but that he preferred to be called Nino. Sho could really see why Jun could like him, he looked quite normal and despite of being a brat and his snarky comments he looked quite intelligent... or that would do if Sho wouldn't know who he was and who were his friends, one of those were sitting now in front of him asking him questions about himself and annoying him even more.
It wasn't like he was doing it on purpose, Jun had asked him to behave and Sho really, really tried to behave but somehow every answer he'd give to Aiba would end up sounding harsh.
But even so, the situation was going quite smoothly with no bigger things, with Jun and Nino openly flirting and Aiba trying to talk with him. Or it was like that until one of Sho's comments about Aiba went further than he intended, and even in his war against the other, he regretted it the minute he said it.
"Well, I guess useless people can't. You just go around kicking people and causing problems to your family and the people around you. You don't care about the rest and..."
He could see the hurt look of Aiba's eyes, and he really understood he had gone way to far with it. The always secure and annoying guy in front of him looked lost for a moment, and Sho went quiet, waiting for his reaction. Whe he wasn't expecting was that Nino would be reacting at that. He didn't know what to reply as the small guy started talking harshly to him defending the other.
"You have no fucking idea, judging him having no idea, so don't say that shit when you don't know how things are! You don't know him at all! He..."
He was already regretting his mouth, and he was waiting Aiba to join Nino at that, but just then Aiba put a hand on Nino's shoulder and smiled at him while brushing it all away.
Sho was regretting not have measured his words, he felt guilty and he wanted to apologize but he didn't know what to say, Jun turned around trying to comfort him, but Sho could see a slight disapproval on his friend's eyes, that suddenly turned into a slight smile and he started talking to Nino making him relax, and soon Aiba and him joined the conversation again.
After a few more talk, was Nino who stood up, Jun patted Sho's shoulder and did the same, turning to tell him, he was skipping the next class.
"....Nino is gonna take me for a ride"
Sho was shocked, he knew Jun wasn't exactly the most enthusiastic student, but from that to skip class and going who knows where with that Nino guy was a huge difference.
"Jun, you can’t! We're almost on exam period and..."
"Come on! It’s just a class" he heard the bratty voice telling him with a smirk on his face, if looks could kill in that moment Nino would have probably died thanks to the look Sho gave him. He couldn't believe this guy, he was about to keep protesting when Jun spoke
"It'll be fine, and that's why I have a super smart friend who's gonna help me study. Right?" Sho just shook his head, he knew Jun would leave with Nino even if he tried to convince him not to, and also knew Jun was right and he would end up helping him to study so what was the use of keep arguing.
He saw Jun smiling as if he knew what he was thinking, so he grabbed his stuff and left with Nino, leaving him and Aiba alone.
Sho couldn't avoid feeling slightly tense, especially for what had happened early, he started to pick his stuff, when Aiba broke the silence
"Why don't we join them?"
Sho was about to fight him back but after giving another thought he just replied plainly
"No thank you, and I should get going or I'll be late to class"
He only wanted to go out from there, somehow being alone with Aiba made him feel nervous, but then the taller man spoke again
"Ok, then can I walk with you to your building?"
This guy never gave up? Sho thought and was about to say something when the other interrupted
"You know I'll do it even if you say no, right?”
Sho started to walk towards his building next to Aiba, still wondering why the other guy was still talking to him when all he got back were rude answers. That guy surely was weird.
The whole walk till they reached the building went in silence, with none of them saying anything. To be honest, Sho had no idea what could he say at that moment... not that he wanted to talk with the other.
Just as he was going to turn to leave inside the building, the other guy spoke.
"So, guess I should leave now" Sho saw him scratching the back of his head, and looking at him doubting like wanting to say something else. Sho kept staring to him while waiting the other to say whatever he had to say. "Was wondering if I could have your number?"
Sho stared at him dumbfolded, still doubting if he had heard fine and Aiba had really asked him for his phone number.
"Excuse me?"
"No... well... I mean, but guess that's a no?"
"No"
"I knew it"
"I mean, yes. I'll... give you my number"
He was really going to give the other his number? Was he even thinking?
"Thanks, guess you should go now or you'll be late for class"
Sho turned back and started walking inside the building not really grasping what he had just done.
