I have a problem that I cannot explain,
I have no reason why it should have been so plain,
Have no questions but I sure have excuse,
I lack the reason why I should be so confused,

I know, how I feel when I'm around you,
I don't know, how I feel when I'm around you,
Around you

Roulette, System of a down

Sho couldn't believe it, they had just got into the party a few moments ago. All had gone in a blur, Aiba hitting Hiro and being take out of the place. He looked around and saw Hiro being attended for his bleeding nose and everybody looking at their direction.

All that was into his mind were questions, questions of what the heck had happened. Aiba had promised him he'd behave, and he'd been doing fine till that moment.

Suddenly, Sho was dragged away by his father.

"See? These are the kind of things that happens when you go out with a beast like him! You got all of us embarrassed!"

Sho just stared at his father in silence, finding the truth of every word, and Aiba's past coming to his mind. This was not the first time Aiba has beaten somebody, and he didn't even want to think what'd happened if they weren't there and nobody would help him stop him.

"I can't believe you really brought this kind of person here! What were you thinking Sho? What were you expecting from him, huh?"

Sho couldn't think clearly, the whole situation plus the shouts of his dad were starting to overwhelm him. He had trusted Aiba... he loved Aiba. Why did something like that have to happen? It was not the first time somebody attacked Aiba with something like that, then why? Why it had to be this time the one that Aiba had to react to prove it?

Sho looked to his father, not really knowing what to say.

"Now, go out and tell that beast to leave before he keeps fussing around and then come back here, you understand?!"

Sho turned around and went out, passing in front of the guards that had previously kicked Aiba out of the party place.

As he stepped towards Aiba, he could see the other kicking everything he could reach, and suddenly something inside him clicked mixed with his father's words.

"Just what the fuck was that, Aiba?"

He could see Aiba quickly turning towards him still clearly mad.

"I wasn't going to let him say that things about you, that damn asshole"

But Sho couldn't listen, he didn't care about the reasons anymore. He had embarrassed him and his parents with what he had just done... he had broke his promise of behaving.

"You didn't just embarrass me, but also my family. What the hell were you thinking?!"

"I couldn't just keep quiet! I would..."

"You would what? Keep hitting him? Like what you did to that guy. Is this the only way you know to solve things?!"

"Sho..."

Sho couldn't keep it anymore.

"Leave now, I don't wanna hear anything else... I have to get inside again and try to solve this fucking mess."

Sho turned away and got inside again, leaving Aiba standing there dumbfolded.

Once inside the party he had to deal with the curious gazes and the accusatory mumbles around him, but what was almost unbearable was the angry look on his parents’ eyes. He wanted to go back and run away from there, but that only would make things worse, so he only could stay there with an idiotic expression on his face, apologizing with everybody. After what his parents considered enough time, they left, the whole ride home was in silence, all Sho could think was Aiba beating Hiro, it seems like he didn't know him at all, that violent guy was something Sho couldn't process.

Once in home, he headed straight to the bed, he wanted to sleep and forget about the whole thing, but after hours of trying he realized it was useless, his mind was so busy replying over and over again the scene of Aiba hitting Hiro, and he was still mad and why not admit, it hurt, because not only Aiba had broken his promise, also because somehow he felt something had broken between them. He tried to understood, he tried to protect him, but it was just stupid to react like that for something so small. And then, the image of him fighting against Kei came to his mind. How that was different of what Aiba had done tonight? It was really scary to see how things were slipping out of his control, he had never fought until that day, what was he turn in to? When things started to twist this way? .

After it, his mind didn't let him a minute of peace, he realized there was no use to keep trying to sleep, bring almost time to go to university, so he got up and started to get ready. The ride to the campus was filled with the same questions going around his mind, he couldn't think of anything else, making him not to pay attention to his surroundings. He stopped on a red traffic light and realized where he was, his eyes moved immediately to the building with the graffiti… that graffiti that now had started to fade away. As soon as the light turned green again, he speeded up trying not to think much about it and, as soon as he parked his car, he headed to his building, expecting to find Jun but finding Aiba waiting for him instead.

As soon as he got closer, his eyes opened wide to the sight of Aiba full of bruises and cuts, and a mix of anger and worry started to build inside him.

"Masaki, what happened?" was the first that came out of his mouth.

Aiba moved trying to hold his hand, but he could see the shadow of pain when he moved his arm.

"Sho..I...is nothing, I wanted to see you"

Then his mind started to race with conclusions of why Aiba was so beaten up, and he snapped again.

"You wanted to see me? And you came to see me like this? All beat up for God knows what reason? You can't, Aiba, you can't make me worry about you like this, you can't keep getting into fights for stupid reasons or just for fun!"

Then Aiba looked at him, and he saw pain in his eyes but also he saw anger, the same anger he saw on his eyes last night.

"Just for fun!?! What do you know? A kid that has been a goody goody all his life doesn't know a shit of how this things are!"

Sho can't believe what Aiba was saying, but he also fought back, they started to shout hurtful things to each other, encouraged by the anger, until they reached the incident with Hiro.

"You could have killed him! For a stupid thing! I didn't care what he said so why you had to do that.”

"Are you listening yourself, Sho? You're defending someone who called you slut, and that abandoned you in the middle of the street to save his ass!"

"Don't try to justify your actions Aiba, what you did was wrong! You don't beat people to death just because they call you names! At least with him I had never worried he would kill someone!"

As soon as the words left his mouth Sho regretted he hadn't meant it like that, but now there was no turning back. The look on Aiba's eyes was a mix of shock, pain and anger.

"Then why don't you go back to Hiro, huh? Instead of a “killer” like me, I bet you think that’s better!"

Sho was speechless, how had things came out to this?

*********

AIBA’S POV:

Aiba was mad, it'd been a long time since he had been so out of himself and there was no way those 2 guards would let him go inside the place again. He started to walk around angry and started to kick everything he could, he had promised to behave, but there was no way he'd let anybody say that things of Sho and get away as normal.

Just when he was kicking another plant pot out of his way he heard Sho's voice behind him, shouting at him.

Why couldn't Sho understand? He had done it for him, he had done that not because of what that dude had said about him but for calling Sho that.

He kept staring at Sho's back as the other got inside again after telling him to leave. Aiba couldn't believe the situation. He knew he had broken the promise, but he just wanted to protect Sho, and having hurt him was hurting more than anything. And now, Sho's words telling him to leave had stabbed him.

He started to walk away, his anger still not leaving him, but now he was angry with himself for hurting Sho. How could he? He had promised him, he loved Sho more than anything else. He kept walking and got into the first bar he found on his way. He couldn't push Sho's angry expression away of his mind.

Aiba lost track of how much he had drink, and he didn't care, he was hurt, he was extremely frustrated. After a few hours, he got kicked out of the bar, totally drunk. But well, it wasn't the first time. Could he even give Sho what he needed?

He kept wandering around in his drunk state, looking for another bar to resume his drinking when somebody bumped into him in the middle of the street. It was the sparkle that lighted the fire. Without a second thought, he started to kick the guy that had bumped into him, letting out all his frustration and not even caring when a group of 5 guys started kicking him instead.

He started laughing bitterly once the guys decided he had gotten enough and left him alone, finally coming back to his senses. He looked around, the fog in his mind caused by the alcohol disappearing slowly, and realized he didn't even know where he was. He took out his phone and started dialing Nino's number.

"Some of us are busy, you know?"

"Sorry, need a favor Nino"

"But weren't you at that party tonight?"

"I screwed it up, but it was to be expected, huh?"

"Aiba... are you ok?"

"Yeah... can you pick me up?"

He could hear Jun's voice in the back of the other side, and he felt sorry for interrupting them, it was not their fault and now he was screwing up their night too.

After half an hour, Nino appeared running in front of Aiba and helped him to get up.

"What happened?"

Aiba just chuckled bitterly, he was hoping Nino wouldn't ask anything, but was to be expected to get some questions considering how he looked.

"You won't buy it if I say I tripped, right?"

"Who you think I am? C'mon tell me"

Aiba sighed and told Nino a bit of what had happened, he knew by the look on his friend's face what he was thinking. He was about to say something when Nino spoke.

"I'd have done the same, but is different for them Aiba. Jun and Sho are not used to that" he gave him a calming look "I'm sure you can solve this" he said and patted his shoulder, making him wince of pain.

"Ouch! that hurts!"

Nino giggled before replying.

"Sorry! Let's go home, we need to take care of those injuries and you need to sleep"

"Nino, tell Jun that I'm sorry for ruining your night"

"It's ok"

Once at home, a surprised Ohno received him. Aiba was ready to get a scold from his brother, but instead he hurried up to help Nino to clean his cuts, and to be honest Aiba felt relieved he didn't say anything, though, it was enough with the deception on his eyes to make him feel worse.

When the guys finished, they left him so he could sleep, but his mind was so busy that he couldn't sleep a bit the whole night. He wanted, no, he needed to speak with Sho, try to solve things and to explain him why he had acted like that. He didn't know how many hours had passed until he heard the front door shouting, Ohno just left earlier than usual without even talking to him, and he didn't blame him. If he were in his position, he would have done the same, again he did nothing else than causing problems.

He got up and, with difficulty, changed his clothes and headed to Sho's university, he thought about going to his house, but that could end worse since Sho's parents would be there, or he may not want to come out. On the other hand, in his university, he’d have to wait for him before he got inside the building and he would have to talk to him.

By the time he arrived, there were only a few students there that gave him some nasty gazes, probably they had been at the party or had listened about it already, so it was natural, but he didn't mind it, he was more worried about Sho and what he would think of seen him like that.

"Aiba?" a familiar voice pull him out of his thoughts

"Jun, Hi. I wanted to apologize for interrupt your night with nino and..."

Jun didn't say anything, but he didn't have to, his shocked face said enough.

"What happened?"

"You don't know?" Aiba asked him, and Jun told him he knew but he didn't meant that more like why he was so beaten.

Aiba didn't feel like explaining, but he knew if Jun was there, Sho wouldn't want to talk to him.

"I don't want to be rude, but I rather to speak with Sho first, if you don't mind, can you wait for him inside?"

Jun seemed to think about it for a second, but nodded in agreement

"Ok, good luck Aiba, you'll need it" he said and headed inside the building.

A little after, he saw Sho's car entering the parking lot, he took a deep breath when he saw him getting out and walking in his direction. Once he was close enough, Aiba saw his shocked face.

"Masaki, what happened?"

He moved to try to grab his hand, but the sudden move caused him pain

"Sho..I...is nothing, I wanted to see you"

The next thing that came out of Sho's mouth made him angry, he hadn't come here to fight, and seemed Sho didn't even try to understand him a bit or let him explain before snap at him.

And then it began, both of them started to heat up moved by the anger, every word Sho says hurt him more than he thought, but things took an ugly turn as soon as Sho brought up the previous nigh. He tried to explain himself one more time.

"Are you listening yourself Sho? You're defending someone who called you slut, and that abandoned you in the middle of the street to save his ass!"

And then Sho said something that killed him

"Don't try to justify your actions Aiba, what you did was wrong! You don't beat people to death just because they call you names! At least with him I never had to worry if he would kill someone!"

For a moment it felt as if someone had punched him in the stomach leaving him without air, he couldn't blame him and he knew he has right, yet he was angry because he was using his past against him, and the anger blinded his senses. He didn’t scream, he lowered his voice and just looked at him defeated.

"Then why don't you go back to Hiro, huh? Instead of a “killer” like me, I bet you think that’s better"

For a moment that seemed an eternity no one spoke, the gaze of Sho over him felt heavy, but as he was about to say something, Sho spoke again.

“Enough, I can't with this, I won't keep dealing with this...It's over Aiba"

Suddenly the world turned darker for Aiba, and he couldn’t move while seeing  Sho walking away, totally unable to stop him. His knees gave in and he just stayed there, on the floor, watching how the only person he loves was leaving him.

"What have I done?"
