I always, but ALWAYS buy a decent foundation. One that matches your skin tone and isn't too cloying or heavy. I don't use powder as it falls off my face. :)

I've never got on with foundation. my main problem is its always bloody odvious I'm wearing it and even the pale ones are too orange so i just go with powder normally.

Ask the nice lady in Boots to find your foundation for you. That's what I did when I was trying to find a lipstick that suited me.

If you don't need foundation, don't use it. I usually use a green concealer stick to cover the redness and then a dusting of loose translucent powder to stop the shine.

Don't forget the brushes. The sponge applicators that come with eyeshadow are crap so buy a proper eyeshadow brush.

And eyelash curlers are great - it's my best "how did I manage without one before?" buy so far.

I already have one!

Aren't eyelash curlers also known as EVIL TORTURE DEVICES OF HELL?

Why don't you go into Lush and talk to Bronte about their makeup range? It's all organic and natural and lovely.

I don't know about you, but I find powder is TERRIBLE for sensitive skin. I sometimes use a white shimmery powder from Stila over foundation and moisturiser mixed together, but it still gets a bit dry and patchy. Ditto blusher.

I did consider it and discussed my lavender sensitivity with them and they said to be on the safe side i was best avoiding it :(

I've been fine with powder, its foundation I have problems with.
