Dude, I love other's views on religon, or, lack thereof. If you ask me, eventhough I try to be a strong Christian, I think its more importantly to just have faith in something, not so much one specific thing. For me its Jesus without a doubt, but I guess I've come to realize not everyone can think the same way...there's gotta be different pathways for different people, I mean, a perfect God would clearly be able to see that, correct? I dunno, but never ever feel like you should hold your tounge for fear of offending someone. Your thoughts are...your thoughts, dont change them for anyone.

ditto to that...and nice pic, you self-righteous ass (i kid, of course...about it being a nice pic...).
you know, people do take life way too seriously, especially when it comes to religion. though i may be a christian (catholic, as it is, and i really don't see eye-to-eye with all of catholicism), i recognize that there are other perceptions of God, and to believe that there is merely one way to look at it (i.e. if you aren't christian, you will be damned) is complete ignorance, IMHO. bad metaphor to explain my point: would you rather have chex mix, or just those stupid burnt toast things? (note: i'm not referring to any affiliate of any religion as burnt toast things...read between the lines; variety in this world is good)
btw, dave, my sister gave my dave egger's a heartbreaking work of staggering genious for xmas. good, good shit.

David,
The religious beliefs thing with always be a touchy subject with some people and that can't be changed. So do what you will, because the only person who can really stop you is you.
On a completely different note. I fly home wednesday night so come to Ruthie's house at 10 pm on Wednesday, December 29th. We will play some Apples to Apples. You need to make Barthel come because he doesn't have a livejournal(at least not one that I know of) in which I can invite him. You can bring other cool kids as well. Hope to see you soon!
here's a thought that is incomplete and disjointedelvisismyheroDecember 28 2004, 18:00:55 UTC
why is it that i have to be so concerned about not offending christians? i'm not a christian, and frankly, it offends me when i get preached to about the "real" reason for the season. just because you have a religion, doesn't mean you should be allowed to force it down everyone else's throats- especially not mine. i celebrate christmas for the sake of tradition not religion. and cuz that's what all the cool kids do...

As you may be able to tell from the pic, I'm a fan of Dogma. (The movie...not the technical crap that turns many away from formalized religion) Interestingly enough tho, I have gravitated toward agreeing with a lot of things the movie throws out there - 'an idea is more important than a belief' 'fuck all the bad things that are carried out in the name of the Lord' too many things. On the subject of 'faith' I believe it's more important to be spiritual, and allow that to calm you. One of my favorite prayers (by Mother Theresa I believe) has very little of a specifically Christian tie
