Fic: Maggie Fitzgerald and the Saltwater Drip [The Amazing Spider-Man][MASTERPOST]
Title: Maggie Fitzgerald and the Saltwater Drip
Fandom: The Amazing Spider-Man (movieverse)
Characters: Gwen Stacy (Gwen/Peter, with appearances by pretty much everyone)
Summary: Google politely tells her there are no poisonous spiders in Manhattan. Judging by her symptoms -- fever, superstrength, newfound desire to shove herself into small dark spaces, and sudden reputation as a masked vigilante -- Gwen would beg to differ. [AU.]

Notes: My entry for the heroinebigbang! I did the AU where Gwen Stacy becomes Spider-Man, otherwise known as the Everybody Lives AU. Thanks to ceridweyn_lin for pretty much being my Hapless Fic Writer's Guide to New York City ♥ I tried my best, but I do apologize for any glaring inaccuracies. I took liberties with the characters we haven't met yet onscreen, with many thanks to lady_amaunet and salvadore_hart for volunteering information from the comics when I asked! :D This fic wouldn't exist without them being the initial sounding board.
Warnings: SPIDERS. Spiders everywhere. Blood and minor amounts of gore. Direct displays and discussion of racism, sexism, ableism, and police brutality. Offscreen references to rape, rape culture, gun violence, gun culture.
THE BIGGEST THANKS POSSIBLE GOES TO MY AMAZING ARTISTS, quintenttsy and salvadore_hart, for a) willingly tackling this enormous mess of a thing, and b) being patient with me when I hurtled apologies and half-completed drafts at their inboxes and cried because there was no way I was going to finish by posting. Like, seriously, they deserve medals.

With all due respect, Gwen would like to punch those people in the face.

NOTE!!! this version has been unbeta'd and unproofread. That means YOU are the first people to see it, so if you notice any inconsistencies, holla! I'm especially looking for input from native New Yorkers or frequent visitors, like, "Elizabeth, subways don't work like that" or "there's no street there", because NYC is one of the most important characters and I want to be respectful.
Same goes for everybody else. If you think I handled anything or anybody with disrespect, tell me, and we'll work to fix it for the draft that will go up on AO3!
