Sounds like a totally awesome weekend! Fred, Ali and I are going to the comic and anime con in London at the end of the month. Ali already has her SF soldiers outfit ready *g*.
That sounds like you all had an utter ball! Apart from temporarily losing baby She-Hulk, anyway. *nods*
Comic-cons are fun, aren't they?! I made it to San Diego a couple of times in the early 90's, before it got really huge (the second time had 35,000 people over the 4 days and I must have run over a good proportion of them *g*) and loved every moment.
It was definitely a ball (lost She-Hulk excluded) and since this was our first one we've learned a few tricks which we'll apply next year :) We have been talking with the other family we went with about the San Diego one but the kids are still little (4, 4 and 5) and the lines and sheer number of people over there is a bit insane for now. Besides needing some time to save up for it. Hopefully by the time they are 8 or 9 they'll be better equipped to handle it and our con going skills will be up to snuff for the San Diego con :D
The Comic Cons always sound like so much fun - it sounds like you had an amazing time!
Awesome moment. Meeting Naomi Novik, getting Her Majesty's Dragon signed by her and telling her how awesome she is.
*turns slowly green with envy* Although I am such a bad fangirl, as I haven't bought the latest book yet! (Only because I have a book voucher to buy it with though, and I haven't been near the right bookshop recently!)
She is so freaking awesome! :D She was going to do a signing at 6pm which was 30 minutes before the train we were supposed to take home. It would take about that time to get between the convention and the train station so I was really hoping to be super quick and was on line nearly half an hour early (and was already the third person there). At 5.45pm she saw how many people were already there and she asked to the Del Rey people if she could start already so fans wouldn't wait too long :D She put out the five winning pieces of fanart from her contest right next to her so everyone could see them too! I wished her congratulations on her little 'egg' (she was huge, must be 8 months already) and told her that the Indiana Jones drabble prompt had come from me :D Ohh and since I didn't have one of her books with me I was about to buy her latest one in hard cover but it turns out they were giving away copies of His Majesty's Dragon for the signing so I got a free copy of that :D
LOL Thanks, we try our best :D We were actually talking with our friends and saying how cool would it be if the kids' first jobs were as volunteers for the NYCC in 2020 :D I actually meant to ask the scuttlebuttincx girls for a print of the art they did for your Another Brother fic but forgot to add it to our badge order (the time leading up to the con was a tiny bit insane).
