yeah, really puts things into perspective, doesn't it? action buses were awesome (i say were cause i understand their cutting services like a gardener cuts hedges), and having no bills made saving easier. still, gotta grow up sometime, right? ;)

I miss a "big night out" costing a mere $20. I also miss not having to plan weeks/months in advance for said big night out & being able to chat to a friend living on the other side of town at 7:30 & decide that we'll meet up at 9 & go clubbing - & both of us had plenty of time to get ready & be there on time (& sober up the next morning at Canberra College with a bottle of J.D. in my handbag, for some reason...). I miss being able to have a big night out every week if I wanted to. I miss everything & everyone being within walking distance from my house - or a short-ish bus ride. I miss paying $6.30 for a taxi home at 4am after clubbing. I miss the express buses & the number 36 Bus for it's awesomeness. I miss paying $1.30 for a bus ride, or *shock horror* $40.20 for a monthly (the last monthly ticket I bought was more than triple that!). I do NOT miss the number 38 bus, because it behaved like a Sydney bus & pretended that the timetables were more like guidelines than actual rules. I miss my Canberra-friends & family ( ... )

We have 2 nightclubs & a pool hall near us, however both nightclubs are scummier than Shooters, but without the cheap drinks & good music - thus defeating their entire purpose. Also they seem to be filled with girls in short-shorts & high-heels (interesting combination :S) & guys with the fake-mohawk-&-collar-up look - both types of people seem to drink too much & have extremely low standards.

Rob saw someone using the bar as a urinal when we left one of the clubs last time we went out in this area. Needless to say, we haven't been back. The worst thing is, we live in a nice, family-ish area, so I don't get how the clubs are this bad! The only clubs I've found here that I like are in the city (about 45min - 1hr drive away) & they're no cheaper than the rest!

The pool hall is ok... but really quite boring for me as I don't find pool fun at all.

I seem to be cursed to live near the things you know. but i don't play pool except with friends and to make an ass of myself, which i don't particularly wanna do here. while the clubs are all in stumble distance, i'd be mugged, stabbed and possibly manraped by the time i crossed the park....(which is just a big wide open space with the odd tree and some tables)
