That has been my sentiment with the Code Geass fandom, actually, that they give little merit to fan efforts. Or maybe it's exclusively the western side of the fandom since the Japanese fans seem to have so much going on to fuel their output. We're either a small fandom or a decently sizeable one with a silent majority

But affliates via online bookmarking isn't all that different from rec lists and friendlists on LJ, and somehow that doesn't work for us. I wonder why we as a fandom are so quiet? It's possibly because we have somehow gathered the most unobtrusive people in fen, but then I ran into you and Nayami and Defade, and I can't see why it doesn't happen on large scale, unless it's regarding output. There is not enough output, and therefore people do not see the point in friending/networking?
I think at the point fandoms reach critical mass...somewhere around the 10th episode for most series....J-fandom managed to reach theirs, with a few massive link recs I told you about (J-fandom used to be very small too, wonders of wonders), and after that it exploded. I'm not sure why we didn't, because we seemed to be getting there...we didn't achieve escape velocity, so to speak. Doesn't mean we can't become a more active fandom, but it'll be harder...for art, because JFen is so large now that WFen likely won't make much difference, and dammit, I

I personally find online bookmarking a damn sight more interesting than LJ's flists. I don't know, maybe it's the colourful banners. Or the fact that people put more effort into websites than blogs, and that a tailored-to-fit fansite appeals more than your typical streamlined blog. Have you never considered building one to house all your work? But it's not without its problems. Before the western fan...smiths can make a return pilgrimage to websites, they need an established audience/clique otherwise there won't be changes. Or would they be the ones to create the audience/clique? It's chicken or egg all over again x_x

Of course. I am not saying you cannot get the fragile uke out of him, it's not very likely, but any character can be broken that far. But it's not going to come on automatic and you have to *work* for it, which just doesn't happen in JFen. XDD
Oooh, you read my fics? Thank you! Just having someone reading and enjoying them makes me happy. ^____^
