Dreamwidth and other issues

OK, so I've seen a lot of people on my flist talking about getting Dreamwidth accounts, so I thought I would just throw this out there: if any of my friends have any Dreamwidth invite codes that they would be willing to give me, I would really appreciate it. [ETA: Never mind, I got one. :D] I was planning to get the lower-level paid account as soon ( Read more... )

IE 6.0, which is what I have at work (alas), is crashed by FOX too, but it would seem most browsers are crashed by it. Apparently FOX and ABC both (and maybe others?) use a player from Move Networks which apparently causes no end of dismay. Since I have no way to futz with IE here, I have no way of uninstalling/reinstalling anything. Very unhappymaking.

But I've been able to get the episode streaming on the ABC site to work, and FOX still crashes my browser. I don't see why one should work, and not the other! Maybe I'll try FOX again, just to see if it changed its mind about working, for no reason I can think of... I know computers do that sometimes.

*grumbles* There is one show on the bubble this season that I truly do not want to be canceled, and it has to be on a site that I can't use! I wish they would just take Hulu into account! I've never had any problems with Hulu!

Although it does seem strangely appropriate that my computer is thwarting my attempts to support a show that is about fighting an evil computer. It's all coming clear to me now - Skynet is really Microsoft, isn't it. ;)

Huh. I use Firefox and ABC crashes but Fox doesn't for me.

I have no idea.

Skynet=Microsoft=true!

Wow. That's really weird!

Oh, hey! I just tried Fox's site... and it crashed the browser. And then I started up Firefox, restored all my tabs and tried again, and now it works! That's really strange! I guess I should check to make sure the ABC site still works. *g* (Although if it's a choice between the two sites, I prefer having the Fox site work, and the ABC site crash, so that's OK.)

I guess Firefox did update one extension as it restarted, so it could be because of that. It was an extension called Flashblock, which makes it so that you have to press on a "play" button to see flash applications online, which could have something to do with the player not working before, I guess. Do you have that extension? You might want to update it if you do.

I'm watching the TSCC season 2 finale on the Fox site now, yay! ♥
