I do my daily wuthering - most of it about boardgames, Primeval and countries of the world beginning with A, uninterestingly enough - over on splendorsine now, but it seems like verlaine is still the place to say ( Read more... )

How did one of your first Canadian connections (read: me) end up in your Brit people lj?

It's not so much British and Canadian LJs as "old LJ" and "new LJ that I'm not sure is worth anyone's time to read yet"! Unless they're really interested in American Samoa for some reason.

Wow, that almost looks organised.
We're around on the 26th and most of the 27th but we'll be heading off to Norfolk for the bank holiday.

To paraphrase a fez-wearing man, "It's called planning. I plan things now. Planning is cool."

I heard about the Norfolk weekender - perhaps some sort of Oxford social gathering can be arranged for the Thursday evening?

Arg, what a shame- we are
going to be crossing in the post (ie not in the right place) to see you at all. Bum. But great to hear you are travelling with Magdalen already (is she pronounced like the college?).

From a kid-pub-UK point of view- any pub that does food usually allows kids in, though they may ask you stay away from the saloon bar part (ie in a side room/food part/beer garden).
I was thrown out of one pub when I took scarysaxon in there in a baby sling... But she was 4 days old at the time and asleep so I still don't get that one....

That would seem like a good idea.
I shall attempt to remember to calendar that fact :-) ('tis a verb)

Monday 30th's an excellent day for me as it's the bank holiday - would be great to see/meet the three of you!

I hadn't realised it was a Bank Holiday - such things work completely differently in Canada - but that is excellent good luck! I am looking forward to confirmation that babies do eventually learn to do things other than lie there and demand to be fed!
