It's not so much British and Canadian LJs as "old LJ" and "new LJ that I'm not sure is worth anyone's time to read yet"! Unless they're really interested in American Samoa for some reason.
I scanned through it - there is a lot of history in there, but hey - actual anecdotes wher eyou talk about life and family and stuff . . . that's new! ;-]
Arg, what a shame- we are going to be crossing in the post (ie not in the right place) to see you at all. Bum. But great to hear you are travelling with Magdalen already (is she pronounced like the college?).
From a kid-pub-UK point of view- any pub that does food usually allows kids in, though they may ask you stay away from the saloon bar part (ie in a side room/food part/beer garden). I was thrown out of one pub when I took scarysaxon in there in a baby sling... But she was 4 days old at the time and asleep so I still don't get that one....
I hadn't realised it was a Bank Holiday - such things work completely differently in Canada - but that is excellent good luck! I am looking forward to confirmation that babies do eventually learn to do things other than lie there and demand to be fed!

We're around on the 26th and most of the 27th but we'll be heading off to Norfolk for the bank holiday.
