Yes! Instead of taking the degree at uni that they take... Politics, Economics and something else (here anyway) and going straight into politics they should be made... *made*... to go empty dustbins, be a carer, be a teacher's assistants, work in hospitals - something that shows them how things really are for some people - for at least ten years before they ever step foot in parliament. Wrong, wrong, wrong, imo.

Saw about your problems on the TV last night. Didn't think it would actually happen and haven't seen the news today but assume from your post it has. I'm really sorry, V.
