I LOVE THIS COUNTRY

Also, before I forget, I feel I need to share this snippet of dialogue, overheard between two young teen boys perusing the Summer Reading table at Barnes & Noble:

BOY #1: How about Fahrenheit 451?

BOY #2: Nah, we can't. It's on the restricted list!

Today I saw an episode of this show from the 80s called Amazing Tales or something like that; it's like a bad sci-fi Tales From the Crypt, with creatures that look almost like they could have come out of Jim Henson's workshop. Anyway, the episode I saw featured Weird Al as Cabbage-Head, an alien who was pissed off at the Miss Stardust pagent being non-representational and insisted on having three aliens from Mars, Venus, and Jupiter compete. I couldn't stop thinking about how much you would like it. Try and find the show if you can, it's on Sci-Fi and seems to be good campy badness.

!!!

Wow... I remember Amazing Tales (didn't Family Dog start out as an episode that Tim Burton animated?), but I hadn't heard of the Weird Al episode. Sounds like I'm gonna need to dust off my old tape-trading contacts-- This needs to be seen.

Actually, she's currently on a leave of absence, as she's spending more time taking care of my grandmother. I, on the other hand, am now working at Barnes & Noble, albeit the one in the Prudential Center in Boston. On top of that, all my bandmates now either also work there or have in the past. Think of it as the family business.
