Well, it appears to me that everyone doesn't like Bush. Besides the Iraqi war, anyone want to tell me why? Because it seems that a lot of people are just hopping on the bandwagon with all this anti Bush commotion, without any real understanding of the whole deal. So, if you DO know what's really going on, and know both sides of the story and all ( Read more... )

you know what paul? i actually get and understand what you're saying for once. i so incredibly totally agree...it seems like lately people have no idea what they're talking about and just oppose Bush because they don't want the war. It seems to me like a lot of the people who do this...are...(i'm searching for a word...) well, kind of posers. They're like DOWN WITH THE WAR, GET BUSH OUT, BE FREEEEE! and, yeah, it's completly true that some people think that and have facts and know about what's going on, but a lot of people don't. Man, I really said this in a way i didn't mean to. Argh...well at least I know what I mean and I think you probably get the jist of what i mean...

i personally can't help you in terms of getting information, but i'm commenting to tell you that i really support what you're saying in regards to a misinformed public. the media decides what it wants to say and how it wants to say it, so by even putting up this LJ post and asking people, you're still always going to get biased opinions as opposed to factual information. and factual information doesnt really exist because everything is relative. so this is all going in circles. but my point is, i'd go to places like cnn.com and also many many other sources of information to see a wide variety of voices, and then formulate your own ideas from there. sorry this comment has become a novel ♥

Pual thank you for this topic. We have too many people that just go along with everythign or as you say hop on the bankwagon. I personally do not liek out president. WHy? well ill tell you why first off obiosly the wasr. The "weapons of mass destrucion: which were infact never found but never the less we went to war. Bush has compared the war to world war2 in importance wheishch in my mind isnt important. I understood the iraqi war. That i will giove him but the need to invade iraq becaseu of these weapons of mass destruxion that the Un coulndt find is not in my favor. Enough about the war. The Kyoto treaty which for those who do not knwo was a bill to help decrease greenhouse gases and raise the efficieny with the amount of Carbon dioxide and other gases in our atmoustefeere. In november of 04 leaders met and discussed this as of september 156 nations have joined but not the US. bush said that the treaty would harm the workers and the economy. ( im sure a war helps all of that). Also education has been cut substantionallyu. Notice ( ... )

This stuff is all superficial, strongly biased and has been widley publicized - even I, someone who doesn't really follow American government issues, was aware of these things, and they give one no more understanding of Bush and his ideologies than the war in Iraq. And you make two statments that are contradictory - you say that you don't like "the american 'we can do what we want' state of mind", but you then go on to say that "if you are gonna go around bashing bush you should at least do your homework". Personally, I think you should do yours.

Zoe and Seren - thanks for your support, it's much appreciated :).

I understand what you say with the uninformed public. Im not politicion i just have my views on this. What i mean the WE can do what we want state of mind is our nation straying more from nato and basicly taking our own track. WE have not been sopported on many issues and most of europe is not in favor with the Us. Im not a bush hater i just dont liek where our country is going and the descions that are being made on more of a widescale level. I do not and hope that this does not turn into a political debate becasue this is giving me a heaadache. The end

What's your point? If you don't really follow these events, which I doubt you do, then you're just manifesting exactly what the majority of kids are these days - relatively ignorant and opinionated people who have no real grip of the situation. Everyone knows that America doesn't have as many friends anymore, but do you know WHY they don't? What reasons caused America to suddenly be the anti social bug? If you can't give 5 definitive reasons discluding the war in Iraq and they Kyoto treaty, and you're still putting out opinions, congratulations, you're in the majority of ignorant teens with a biased set of facts and a voice that doesn't know anything.

And your grammer and spelling's atrocious, it's killing my eyes.
