daylight savings totally blindsided me

It's 6:15 on a Sunday and I have nothing besides dinner with Bekannten and homework to look forward to.  Sometimes I get online and see people's recent entries and know they were written in the morning with the promise of a full day ahead, the day I've already wasted, and I wish I was back in Michigan to retrieve my Sunday ( Read more... )

and after every encounter with a new Georgian friend I try and remind myself that they must have a very different culture and I shouldn't feel so weirded out.

I've also been kissed on both cheeks upon meeting total strangers, not once but twice since moving here. One guy was Spanish and the other is from Dresden. Invasion of personal bubble! Wah.

For a moment my heart stopped because that would make me late for a test right now. But I think I remember something about the US deciding to move their daylight savings back a month...? Extend it, maybe? But I guess not everyone did because my computer clock switched automatically here and so did everyone else's who I've talked to.

Yeah the United States pushed our daylight savings end-date back until November 2.
