LOL I nearly had a conniption when Nasir was yanked off the wall when Sparticus was testing their defenses...I was like FUCKTHISSHOWDAMMIT...oh. Whew! And of course EVERYBODY I like is going to die in the end. Nuts.
I, er, may or may not have called Steven S. DeKnight's parentage into question when Nasir went down. It was like - well, guess I don't have to obsess over *that* anymore!
Fuckin' showrunners...
And then yay! They made it! Then - crap - Spartacus is a major human tragedy. Don't really know if I can handle watching any of them crucified, let alone either Agron or Nasir, so I'll live this year in Denial (which is in Egypt - and that was one badass Egyptian!)
So glad you've watched it - haven't had anyone to do the fangirling thing with over this ;).
I know! It really could've gone either way, right? But as I've developed an inappropriate fangirl crush on one of the participating Spartacus actors, I'm doubled doomed *g*.
Ack, I thought I replied to this! Watching Spartacus, which kills off major characters in each episode, cuz the showrunner is a sadistic (though very funny and well-spoken) SOB. They've developed a m/m relationship throughout the course of this last season which has been fun to watch (and from which I've developed a full on fangirl crush for one of the actors) but both historically and in the world of the writers, both characters are completely expendable. And the showrunner has no compunctions about killing them off, even though he's admitted that he's hit the mother lode with their storyline.
It's sort of the perfect storm for a certain section of fandom - no one knew if the characters would survive the season finale, so there was a real urgency to the whole thing. And the showrunner has hinted broadly that he'll expand their relationship (meaning sex) in the next series. Plus there were some post-finale interviews that really sent the whole thing into the stratosphere, so it's definitely the next great thing. Until the next great thing :). Or, they die. *sigh*
I thought you must mean Spartacus. One of my best friends just fell hard for the show and has been feeding me lovely pics of Agron and Nasir at every opportunity. (I'd probably watch it, but for the fact that I've got no time and the little I've seen is pretty much over my gore limit.)
Oh, it's way over my gore limit, too. I admit that I have a whole set of Things I Do To Avoid Watching Any Gore, which means I actually only watch about 30% of any ep :). Luckily the gore is usually telegraphed way before anything happens, it's almost always in slo-mo, and if any bad guy looks through a small opening, I know it's time to check email or something *g*.
And the sad thing about Agron/Nasir is that the showrunner will quite probably allow them one really sexy scene - then kill one or both. I can't figure out if he's brilliant or a sadist or both!
