A/N: I started this not long after the finale, and finally finished it today.
Katjs11 told me it was post worthy so I decided to brave it and post.. She and her beta skills are amazing btw. This is basically just a short conversation between Parker and Piz, concerning Logan and Veronica..It's kind of random, but maybe it came out okay..
"So they say it gets better with time."
Parker looked up from her food to see Piz smiling down at her. "What gets better with time exactly?"
"A broken heart, at least that's what they say. Whoever they are, they should know."
The quirky boy sat down in front of her and all Parker could do was shake her head in amusement at him. "Not that you would know anything about a broken heart. You're still with your girlfriend."
"Actually that's incorrect; Veronica and I ended things yesterday."
"What? Why?"
There was sadness in Piz's eyes as he shrugged his shoulders. "I caught a look, not even a look really, more of a glance, with a tiny smile mixed in, between Veronica and Logan, and I kinda knew where I stood."
"I see."
"It also didn't help matters that it was right after Logan defended Veronica's name with his fist again."
"Again?"
"Yeah, at least it wasn't me this time."
"I should have known better," Parker frowned. "Dating my friend's ex? What was I thinking?"
"Apparently they have a history."
"We never stood a chance did we?" Parker laughed.
"Hey speak for yourself. For about oh, two seconds, I was totally in the game!" Piz spoke with a fake smile.
"Just two seconds?"
"But what a great two seconds they were!"
Parker laughed gently at the comment. "I really liked him you know? I mean I really thought I saw something there."
"Yeah, apparently Logan is just an amazing guy! A lover and a fighter, maybe? I know he's a fighter," Piz winced, touching his cheek.
"He never stopped loving her," Parker muttered, looking down at her stale fries.
"Wallace warned me, told me not to go there…"
"Mac glared at me the first time I suggested dating Logan."
Piz shrugged his shoulders. "I guess you just have to be from Neptune to understand."
"Understand?"
"The secret society of the Neptune High alumni. All Wallace has ever said is, 'you just don't get it, man. You weren't there'."
"Yeah," Parker nodded. "I've asked Mac questions about high school and all I get is a look. A very scary look, I might add."
"They just have this thing they share," Piz frowned.
"Logan and Veronica?" Parker questioned.
"All of them, the whole Neptune High gang," Piz shrugged.
"Well, I guess the saying is true, you live and you learn."
"I prefer living to learning myself," Piz sighed.
"Want to place bets on how long it takes before they're back together?" Parker questioned with a sad smile.
"Before she leaves for her internship?" Piz spoke.
"Sounds feasible," Parker nodded in agreement.
"Or, he's going to be waiting for her at the airport on her return home," Piz suggested, letting out a sigh. "It'll be a magical reunion for the both of them," he added, rolling his eyes.
"Who says romance is dead," Parker spoke, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
"I know right?"
Parker forced a smile. "Piz, you want to get out of here? I've still got a lovely fake ID Veronica gave me, and I'm suddenly in the mood to use it."
"Yeah? You know I've got one of those too," he nodded. "Not really a drinker though…"
"Really? Because you look like you could use a drink… Or three," Parker laughed.
"You make a valid point," Piz spoke as he stood up. "Ready when you are."
Parker slid out of her seat and nodded. "I know this awesome club, it's just the place to forget all our problems."
"Then by all means, lead the way," Piz spoke with a smile.
"We're going to be all right Piz," Parker assured him with a smile. "This is just a bump in the road right?"
"Yeah, just a gigantic bump in the road."
