Ok, So this is the first time I've written a pattern for others to use. please bear with me if it has a few bugs or errors, just let me know and I'll fix them up.

Thank you so much for writing a pattern for the Jayne Cobb hat that isn't knitted in the round. Like you, I prefer the old fashioned needles for knitting.

My friend will be so chuffed with this,

Thank you, this looks like the best pattern and I have been looking a lot. I bet I can knit it on circular needles because I prefer no seam. Thanks again.

Hi, sorry new to all this knitting lark but a friend asked me to knit them a firefly hat.... This pattern looks perfect, although im nit sure what wool i should be using, any advice would be great :)

Hi there!
I just used any worsted weight I could find in the right colours. I use mostly acrylic yarns because I like the easy wash abilities for the recipient.
So basically, find the colours in whatever yarn you are comfortable working with
