Yes, there's nothing here but idea pimpage. But there is a point! I need Tara's imput :D (and anyone else who wants to comment).
Images that will help me get the idea across:
I don't remember the site that I found these the first two photographs on, but I'd reference them if I did. This is similar to the overdress idea: I want the back of the dress to have the gathers in the left photograph, but I want there to be a bustle, such as in my (really crappy made in Microsoft Paint) sketch. The back of the bodice I really want to have the pretty lacing like in the first photograph. The bodice itself, however, I want to be shaped more like a traditional bodice. The front I want to be very simple, with just the draping and the skirt from the underdress (the third photograph) being seen (such as in the crap sketch on the left) under a simple bodice, with a hint of the skirt from the overdress. I hope this makes sense >_>.
The colors are slightly wrong. The camera makes my dress look more blue (and cheap) than in looks in person, and the grey fabric is actually about the color of the fabric a little bit away from the center. the flash of the camera made the fabric look both lighter (in the middle) and darker (the ends) than it actually is. >___>
So, tell me if any of this makes sense, or not. This is the best I can do right now, because of my evil deadline. I'm worried it's too deviant from Victorian fashion, which I can accept (although it's difficult) because my theme is steampunk, and it's technically not always based on Victorian culture. I kind of wish it was better, but I love the back gathering and the lacing, and I would probably wear this a lot outside of a convention, so, yeah. Imput. anyone?
