Christmas Eve I had to work.
We exchanged our gifts. I got a t-shirt, a gift certificate to Sonic, a gift certificate to Applebee's, a santa bell ornament, and from my boss two framed quotes about the home.
We were so insanely busy and didn't have enough people working. We didn't have time to do anything but cashier, so when we finally kicked the last few people out we didn't even bother trying to clean. We didn't want to stay late, and I had dinner plans anyway. People need to get a life during the holidays! Don't wait until the last minute to do all your fucking shopping!!!
When driving home I called Grant to vent. He always makes me feel better, but I had so much to vent, it really wasn't working. I was happy that the Christmas part of my job was over, but I had so much stress built up from it! I wanted to laugh, cry and yell at the same time. Though, the holiday crap isn't really over, there are still the half off sales for the next few days and then packing all that left over stuff up, and then the crazy people wanting to buy party favors and junk food for New Years. Plus, January 7th is inventory, so we really have to work at getting as much of the stock room empty as possible and making sure everything is in place and with it's matching barcodes (yes, we have to do that, it's evil).
Enough about work though. We had dinner at my grandma's. Shrimp cocktail, buttery shrimp, rice, veggies, crab legs and some nasty tropical shimp that no one liked.
My grandma wanted us to open presents, but we didn't want to, we said just one. Well somehow we ended up opening all of them. BTW, we celebrate Christmas at both her house and our house, so we still had presents at home. We mostly all got the same things expect for our main present. I got some money, fuzzy socks, a large jug of de-icer... which she bought us all last year and we still have!, some pjs that I didn't like. I don't ever buy matching top and bottom pjs. I like sleeping in t-shirts. This set had long sleeves and I can not stand sleeping in long sleeves. I also didn't like the way the fabric felt, didn't like the print and they didn't fit anyway. I also got a set of plates, etc. Really nice square ones. Umm.... I think Im forgetting something... oh well.
I ended up going to bed early that night because I had a terrible migrane and felt sick to my stomach.
Christmas day my body and brain kept trying to wake me up around 7am and then every 10 minutes. I was pissed. I guess that "OH MY GOD, CHRISTMAS!" thing is still deep down in my brain somewhere from when I was little, but dang it, I wanted to sleep, I felt icky. But like an hour later, Cat and Colleen were trying to get me up. boo!
So we all went downstairs and when Grandma Dot and Grandpa Ed came over we opened presents. Dot and Mom were impressed with what I did for Ed, they said I'm so creative. I made a slot machine out of cardboard and put a slot for bills to be pulled out from. I taped $50 worth of bills together. For Dot, I put her gift certificate in a gc thing I bought at Lowes. It was two pieces of wood that were screwed together and came with a tiny screw driver to open it. It was funny to watch. I got my mom all kinds of candles, scented oils, burners and stuff like that. My dad got a tool, Colleen got perfume and jewery and Cat got a Wii game and House calandar from me.
We were supposed to have breakfast, but no one was really hungry. We did have some muffins though.
Things I got.
In my stocking I got a Gel eye mask from my Mom

A massager thing.

But she said she ran out of time.
Under the tree I got
A Spongebob calendar from Colleen. It's so cute.
Some fuzzy, soft socks from Colleen. The socks I've been seeing sitting on the floor for a week...
A shirt that says "Polish Girls Rule" from my Mom and Dad
Some scratch off tickets from Cat (I only won $2)
A gift certificate for tanning... I can't read the chicks hand writing though, so I don't know how much it's for! from Cat.
and a gift certificate for the spa!!!!!!! WOOT! From my Mom and Dad!
We got my dad some kind of tool... I don't know what it is, a sander or something.... I just put the money in for it and wrapped it, I have no clue. He loved it though and played with it for a long time. It was funny. My Mom kept saying he was like a little kid.
Then we all went our separate ways. I was tired, but knew I couldn't go back to sleep so I went online for a few hours. Then I took a nap. I woke up around 5:30 and took a shower. When I got out my family was like "are you almost ready?" That pisses me off when they do that. They don't tell me when we need to be somewhere but then try to rush me. WHY DO THEY DO THIS ALL THE TIME?!?! So they left without me. I just walked to grandma's and the temp was so nice. It felt like mid-fall, like my favorite time of weather.
I got to grandma's and was surprised we had company. I didn't know my grandma's friends, Don and Le donna would be there, usually it's only our family and really close friends over. We all hung out, munched on cheese and crackers and played Wii for a while. Colleen and I were dressed the same. lol! We ate dinner late for once. (Thanksgiving and Christmas we usually eat dinner at 3-4pm). Also, apparently while I was sleeping they had breakfast at lunch time.
For dinner we had salad, baked potato, asparagus (eww), Yorkshire pudding (a.k.a. popovers)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yorkshire_pudding, a broccoli, cauliflower, pearl onion and cheese dish (my fave), and prime rib. It was so delicious!
Dessert, (and my family is crazy, just so you know) we had pecan pie, apple pie, chocolate mousse, some fruit tart thing and some weird thing my Mom made. Why my family makes so many desserts, I don't know.
While eating dessert we sang the 12 days of Christmas. It's a tradition we have. My mom and grandma both have a set of 12 day glasses. Each glass has it's own day. We make every person sing their own day and then we all join in after them. We had to tell our company our tradition, it was alittle weird having someone new do it with us. Then I brought out the new lyrics I wrote and we sang that. Grandpa was laughing and Dot was cracking up. I thought she was going to have a heart attack. She really lost it when she read "6 perfect Pollacks" XD It was crazy and fun. Grandma said I am a genius. woo hoo! (THe new version I wrote is at the end of this post).
After our company left, we looked at some pictures and played more Wii. That was our Christmas.
I got to sleep late today. GLORIOUS!! Still been feeling kinda sick.
Colleen is going to be gone the next few days, she went to Chickasha to stay with a friend. My Mom wasn't happy about bringing her though.
I've been told the temp was in the 70's today. O_o Why is Oklahoma so weird?
Fun time is over though, back to work Saturday (but I have Sunday off, weeeee!!!)
*This song is only a tiny bit exaggerated. This stuff really does happen. It won't make sense to most of you, but if you were to spend some time with us, you would see how well it fits!
