I erm...stalked you back to your journal from glitch_wyatt and your fic there (which I re-read *a lot*) and saw this and squeed hugely when I saw you'd written more Tin Man fic.

This is exactly the sort of scene I wanted to see in the series--the Queen finding out what had happened to her friend and advisor. And after seeing so many fics that have people missing Glitch or fearing missing Glitch after rebrainment, it's nice to see the other side, the people who would be missing Ambrose.

This really gets across the horror and the tragedy of what was done--an identity taken away.

I love it and I'm saving it in my memories (so I can read it again and again like your other Tin Man fic).

Although I'll also say (now that I'm not half asleep) that the queen's judgment of Glitch is harsh. It's part of what makes the fic powerful, but still, I was thinking "poor Glitch, he saves the kingdom and the queen can't even acknowledge him".

awesome, glad you found it! I wasn't comfortable posting it to the community since it wasn't Wyatt-Glitch, but glad somebody backtracked:)

And even more glad that you liked it! I completely agree that it was harsh, but I think it reasonable. The Queen has been told about the things he's done, but she hasn't experienced him, and every time she looks at him she just sees how much was taken, not how much he overcame that. Plus, it's intensified by the fact that it's _her fault_. It was all done because of her, and she feels guilty which makes her that much less likely to see anything good in the result.

That was my reasoning anyway!
