[ The world around him warps into a strange world, the one he'd dreamed about so long ago: a desert, arid and desolate, with three suns in the sky...
A desert storm is beginning to stir, and it occurs to him that he's lying on his back, staring up into the sky, listless and unresponsive -
Then he sees a figure.
He squints his eyes and realizes he knows who it is looming over him - it's Yubel. She reaches for him and

suddenly he's not there anymore. He feels himself leaving his body and oh god, it hurts it hurts it hurts, not like a knife stabbing his body but a knife searing straight through his soul.
He sees himself for a second - his eyes are a demonic yellow and he's sure he's dying. He feels like he's rising, rising upwards...
For one moment, he doesn't know anything - who he is, where he is - stripped to nothing. Then it all goes black.

The next thing he sees is dark blue. Somewhere in the distance, there's a light but he can't see that far.
His breathing comes slower. It's so dark... where is the light coming from...? No, he can't think properly, it's just so - so stifling here, like something's pressing down on him. Killing him slowly...
Before his eyes close again, he sees strange things happening: he sees himself, the Johan with the yellow eyes.
And he sees his family, his Duel Monsters, darkened and demonic.
And - and he could swear he could see Juudai's face but it's -
Black.

I always wanted a quick death.
Am I dying now? Am I... dying? I can't think... and...
If I'm dying, why can't I just d -

He feels like he's been sleeping for so long, he can't remember what it's like to be alive and the fear of death. He's almost gotten used to feeling like the weight of the world is on him - whatever this prison of his is (and he has his suspicions; he thinks he knows exactly where he is), it's beginning to reject him. He can feel it when he's awake, like something's crushing him and stealing his life away. At least when he's asleep, it doesn't hurt as much...
Escape. He has to escape or fade away or just die -
Somehow, death doesn't sound so bad. Just close your eyes and never wake up...

While he's asleep, he's more or less dead until somebody disturbs him or around every three hours. If he wakes naturally, then he'll be unable to really do anything except breathe and open his eyes. He will appear to be in pain, then fade back into sleep. However, if he's disturbed, then he'll ramble for awhile and then likely try to kill himself so he won't have to go back to sleep. He'll fall asleep before he can harm himself, though. Italics = narrative; normal = thoughts.]]
