Who: Kou and Tento
Where: Koushirou's room
When: Friday,September 28th
Tentomon flitted away from the computer after posting his entry. He had hoped writing down his worries would quell them, but that did not seem to be the case.
Absently, he flew down the hall. Seeing Koushirou-han's bedroom door standing open, he hovered in the doorway. His partner was seated at his desk, a schoolbook open before him. However, he did not appear to be reading the contents.
"Koushirou-han, is that not the correct book you should be reading?"
Startled, the redhead looked up from his deep contemplation of the desk. "What - oh, no. I'm just finding it... hard to concentrate."
"Is it because the children are playing below the window again?" Tentomon winced, but continued with his offer regardless. "Shall I go and distract them? Let them try to... capture me with their pocketballs?"
Koushirou smiled slightly. "No, I don't think that's necessary. Anyway, they're not the problem." In truth, he hadn't even realized the neighborhood children were home from school yet.
"What is the problem, then?" His partner asked worriedly. "You are not sick, are you?"
"No, I'm just worried about the Digimon sightings."
"As am I," his Digimon said in understanding. "Forgive me, Koushirou-han, but I wish we could have accompanied Taichi-han and the others to Mexico."
"I'm not worried about Mexico," Koushirou confessed. "Taichi-san has plenty of help, and things in France seem to have calmed for the time being."
"Then, what is troubling you?" The bug-like creature inquired, landing on the edge of Koushirou's bed as he spoke.
"The fact that we're so disconnected," the boy explained. "There are still many of us here in Japan, and yet we barely speak. Mina-san and Ash-san especially seem so separate from us." He ducked his head in embarrassment. "It is my fault. I have neglected installing Mina-san's portal for far too long."
"She does not seem to be angry," his partner reasoned.
"Perhaps she feels too embarrassed you and Bakumon were fighting to express such emotions," Koushirou said lightly, although the look he gave Tentomon conveyed none of the mildness his tone held.
The Digimon moved uncomfortably. "I am sorry for my behavior," he said quietly. "I just wrote an apology to Bakumon as well. I know it is very overdue..."
Koushirou got up and came to stand near the bed, placing a hand lightly on Tentomon's shell. "I appreciate that, as I'm sure he will."
"I do not think that is likely," the bug muttered darkly. Koushirou raised his eyebrows wordlessly and silence stretched between them.
"Do you think we should visit the digital world?" The human inquired abruptly, glancing toward the living room where he'd left his computer for Tentomon to use.
"Alone? I saw the comment you left for Mimi-han, and we both know that is not very wise. But if you would wish to do so, I will go with you, of course, Koushirou-han."
His partner smiled. "I know you would. But you are right in saying it is not wise." His expression turned rufull and he shrugged. "I guess I don't like not being able to help with anything currently. When I was younger and able to help, Taichi-san did not always want it. Now, when help is needed, I am not able to give it."
"You help in plenty of ways," his partner was quick to defend him. "You did a great deal of research."
"You are right. But I don't feel that is enough right now."
the Digimon was thoughtful for a moment. "What else can we do, though? It would only be increasing the danger to all of us if we ventured into the digital world alone." He grew sad at the thought of his home being unsafe even to enter, but continued resolutely. "I suppose, for the moment, all we can do is wait."
Koushirou nodded slowly. "This is very true." He returned to his desk and flipped idly through his textbook.
"You know," Tentomon spoke up before his partner could become too absorbed. "We could wait with the enjoyment of food."
Koushirou looked back over at him. "Oh? And what sort of food did you have in mind?"
"I believe ice cream would be the best solution for our current problem," Tentomon responded seriously.
"Do you?"
"Yes. I believe I think better while consuming ice cream."
"I believe it makes you far too hyperactive."
"I do not think that is the case," his partner argued. He'd thought he'd been winning Koushirou-han over, too.
"Well, then." Koushirou stood up, closing his textbook. "I suppose we shall just have to test that theory."
"Yes, we certainly shall!" His partner agreed readily, taking flight for the kitchen.
