Every place I've been it's the same. On week night's evening if you pick a side street not too far off the action and find a proper pizzeria it will often be filled with locals. Thailand, Japan, Scotland, Switzerland.. all places I've had that experience. Apparently it is the universal 'going out with the family' meal
