someone in lj comm equals tv_australia raised an excellent point in which they said 'if ian thorpe comes out do you think john howard would legalise gay marriage in australia' hmmm

Eww. I hate Thorpe. Maybe Thorpe in conjunction with David from this years Big Brother could whine enough until Howard eventually caves and then does legalise it. Ugh. I think I have a bigger problem with David and his incessant complaining than I do with Thorpe. I never thought I could hate someone more than Thorpe... He does, though, have a good line of underwear...
P.S I stared at your userpic for TOO long. (Kinda like how I stare at Leekspin.com for too long, too)...
Haha! You've fallen into the trap! I think I spun for like 20 minutes... I was so disgusted with myself, haha Howard won't legalise at all I don't reckon. I liked the whole idea of "civil unions" when they were introduced briefly. (I can't remember if they are still enacted, last I heard the Fed Gov was challenging whichever state Gov as it breached the constitution or something...I remember doing a case study of it in legal, but I didn't pay much attention...as it's, well...Legal...) Civil unions though, the same rights as married couples just without the marriage connotation attached to it. I thought it was a good concept and looked less intrusive to the more conservative Australians.
