Nov 18, 2010 21:00

Jus' discovered these journals but I was wonderin' 'bout a few things.  Can any o' the professors read these? I dun wanna go off writin' 'bout me pets then find myself in trouble again. It was bad enough last week when they found Mort, me billywig. O' course, only after the poor bloke stung the charms professor. Professor started floatin' an' ( Read more... )

Well, I haven't been expelled yet, big guy, nor arrested on charges of harrassment towards Lily Evans, so I'm guessing that they can't read it, big guy.

That's good news. I was all worried I'd get more detention. It was bad enough last year.

Your spelling and grammar absolutely and completely horrible.

And while there are not Professor on the journals as of yet there are plenty of Prefects that will be more then happy to turn you if for keeping such foul pests in a place of learning.

[[OOC: Yeah, while theoretically learning about creatures is all well and good... Snape doesn't often get along well with anything that possesses feelings. Lets just say he's less then fond of the idea of someone keeping such 'pets' around the school. Hehe]]

But they don't do anythin' wrong! They're misunderstood creatures! I mean...they don't do no harm...usually.

Usually?

[[OOC: Snape does not like the sound of that....]]

W-well it's only a few times that anything has happened and everyone's been fine after wards. No harm done, right?

While I can only speak for a small portion of the Gryffindor Prefects, and also represent the Marauders at the same time, I personally see no problem with your pets.

Well, so long as no grievous harm comes to a fellow student. I don't see too much wrong with laughing and floating.

You wouldn't.

How anyone as lax as you managed to become a Prefect at all is beyond comprehension. I wouldn't be surprised if you broke the rules more often then you enforced them.

Well, speaking as someone who is a Prefect to someone who isn't, this is my opinion on the matter. I am neither your Prefect nor care what you think about my behavior out of class, but still seeing as I am the one with the shiny P badge, I think I have a bit more say in the matter over what Hagrid here thinks.

And you are aware, of course, that you're insulting me in a journal where James commented you might want to be careful.

It's only the truth. Were you not part of that group and your sense of duty not so skewed by them, perhaps your indignation would be justified. But the fact remains, you've drifted Lupin, and drifted far.

Any since when has hot air bag like James being present anywhere be sufficient reason to do, or not do anything?

[[OOC: Lupin is a relatively smart, hardworking person... Snape might well have taken to him at one point were it not for James and Sirius.]]

In all honesty, you shouldn't be needing to write anything that you should be afraid of professors reading....

Your spelling and grammar don't seem horrid. Though I don't understand why you're writing like you speak. Most people... spoken accents don't generally get transformed into written quirks.

So I should be writing more like this? I could work on my spelling. It's just that when I write, I feel it should reflect myself.

I think I'll need to practice this more. It's really hard to have to think about every word I write. Maybe I'll read a dicshunary...that book with lots of words in it...

You're right, it should reflect yourself.

Dictionary. The library has some good ones, in the reference section. There are also a few charms you can do for spelling that you can learn, if you really want to brush up. However, especially for informal writing, one shouldn't be too worried about errors.

I think I'll have to stick with learning from books. The charms professor isn't too happy with me because of the incident last week. Is it okay if I ask you about spelling and such once in a while? I'm not too good at reading...

R-really? I don't often meet people who enjoy talking about magical and non-magical creatures.

Of course! Elphias is interested in them too!

Now you have met two. Luna and I have talked a little about all sorts of creatures. Feel free to talk to me all you want. I even have books you may borrow, if interested, Hagrid. Is it all right if I call you by name?
