★ Taemin is not a liar. He just doesn't speak.

♪ I love you now- that's a lie
But the truth is- hmm~

Technically, Taemin was not a liar. He just happened to be unable to communicate what he really wanted to say. His mind simply couldn't form the right words to express his feelings or his thoughts. His shy and quiet attitude made his presence barely noticeable in a classroom.

So when he realised he was falling for his sociable art class partner, Taemin panicked. The boy was two years older than him and was known around the school for his charisma and his friendliness. He welcomed anyone that would be willing to get close to him.

Unfortunately, Taemin had never been able to say even one word to Choi Minho.

He was pretty sure Minho thought he was mute and unable to squeak a sound for Minho always spoke to Taemin slower than when he chatted with his friends. It was as if Minho thought Taemin couldn't understand if he spoke too fast. He also always ended his sentences with a do you understand? and a questioning stare.

It did not help that, as much as Taemin showed interest in Minho when they were in class, as soon as the bell rang, the young brown-haired boy fled to hide in a corner of the library. Nobody ever disturbed him there, not even his closest friends.

But the truth is- hmm~

In one particularly boring art class, Minho had stolen Taemin's notebook to write a small note in the corner of the lined sheet of paper.

'Do you want to change partners for the project?' The note said.

When his eyes fell on the neatly formed letters, Taemin immediately gasped and scribbled something back.

'Why?'

When he got hold of the sheet, Minho contemplated the simple word while a smile slowly settling on his face. His eyes softened and he looked longingly at the paper before he actually started to write his response.

He handed the paper to Taemin with a sad smirk.

'You don't seem too comfortable with me.'

When the younger boy read it, he couldn't help but let his emotions overflow. His eyes itched, practically begging him to cry the tears that made his head hurt so badly. It's all because of me, he thought, Minho feels uncomfortable because of me,

Knowing his incompetence at explaining the situation with words Taemin did what he did best; run away.

He promptly sprinted out of class to reach the safe corner of the library, fully aware of the teacher gasping at his sudden actions. On his way, Taemin passed by some students who gave him an odd look and a teacher who frowned disapprovingly at him. The floor was slippery; the janitor had probably just waxed it.

Taemin was going up the staircase that led to the library when someone yanked the back of his shirt, making him fall backward and hit something hard. A swift glance over his shoulder showed Taemin that the person who had run after him was non-other than his art class partner.

Minho and Taemin fell down the stairs ungracefully, both of them moaning and stirring in pain when they landed the dirty floor. They were sprawled at the bottom of the staircase, both trying to clam their racing heart.

Even though he was in a panic mode, Taemin still noticed the way Minho had wrapped his arms around him protectively. Struggling only made Minho tighten his embrace, so he quickly felt his whole body become numb.

"Are you okay?" Minho asked.

Taemin nodded, his cheek rubbing against the front of Minho's shirt. That made him realise he had used Minho as a pillow to absorb the shock of his contact with the ground.

"Stop crying."

Taemin sobbed once, shaking from head to toes. Unconsciously, he nuzzled Minho's shirt, soaking it with his salty tears. He sighed shakily, leaning against Minho as if he was going to die if he detached himself from the taller boy.

"I know you don't like speaking, and it's okay." Minho chuckled warmly. "I love that part of you,"

Hearing that last sentence, Taemin concentrated on choosing nice words to tell his feelings for the older boy. A hand patted his back comfortingly, encouraging him to calm down.

"Humm...humm..."

He really wanted to take all of his feelings out, to finally get it off his shoulders. Hesitantly, Taemin glanced up to see Minho wait patiently for his voice. It only added to his nervousness and Taemin started trembling more violently.

"Humm..."

The words were escaping from his brain, his mind going blank at the mere thought of speaking about such a serious subject. He bit his lips, his breathing was erratic. His voice still refused to come out.

"Take your time," Minho whispered when he sensed Taemin hyperventilate.

"I- humm..."

I didn't really like the song Toeto at first, but I randomly sang it when I woke up this morning. The song is cute (almost too cute) and 2min just flashed in my mind! :)

I hope you enjoyed it!

I know I failed, the story is too short and rushed...but I really needed to write it!
