Big Boys Don't Cry

Everything was going just fine in Jaebeom's life. So fine that he suspected something bad would happen sooner or later. So much that he became a little paranoiac, every time someone was complaining or whining, he always rushed to their side like a worried mother to her injured children.

So when he walked into the kitchen one evening and heard a sniffle, he really started to panic. Maybe someone was sick? Or crying? Or worse! Sick and crying! What was the matter? It was summer, they rarely got sick in summer and everything was going so well, nobody could be sad.

Interrupting his thoughts as he heard another faint sob, his eyes roamed around the room to find the source of the noise. It was not too hard to spot a tall boy standing by the kitchen counter. One of his hand was rubbing the corner of his teary eyes and it was all it took for Jaebeom to practically run to Taecyeon's side. His arms circled the younger boy and he rested his head somewhere near his shoulder. He felt Taecyeon stiffen and stop with whatever it was he was doing.

"Taec...what's wrong huh? Did something bad happen?" Jaebeom couldn't remember the last time he had spoke so softly to someone. He waited for an answer, but seeing that Taecyeon didn't move at all, he continued with caring words.

"You have to tell the leader when something's bothering you, you know that don't you? Is it the pressure? The manager? Or maybe..." Jaebeom rubbed his cheek on Taecyeon's shoulder, thinking that it would smooth down the other's pain a little. "Aww, you don't have to feel bad for what Wooyoung said, he didn't mean it, he just wanted to annoy you . You know everyone likes you. Don't have to worry ab--"

"Hyung?" Taecyeon said, emphasing the question mark with his questioning tone of voice.

"Yes Taec?"

The other stayed silent once again, slowly shifting uncomfortably on his feet. Jaebeom tightened his embrace to stop the nervous habit.

"You can tell me why you're crying you know, I'm not heartless, I can understand your-"

"Hyung," Taecyeon put something down with a clang, the sound echoing in the kitchen for less than a second. "It's not that your hug is not nice or anything...but..."

"Yes?" Jeabeom urged him to continue.

"It's kind of awkward to cut onions in this position,"

"...,"

They Call Me Bear, Mr. Bear

Junsu walked in his room casually, planning to pick his pajamas up before going into the nice relaxing shower he had been looking forward to. As he rummaged through his drawers to find his favorite socks, he spotted something unfamiliar laying on his bed.

He grabbed some random socks and looked at his bed with curious squinted eyes. He approached slowly, noting how the thing invading his bed was white and seemed really soft. He reached his hand out to touch and it was indeed very soft. Junsu backed off quickly after poking the stuffed toy as if it would come to life and attack him.

He shrugged and walked to the bathroom, expecting the stuffed toy to be off his bed and somewhere on Nichkhun's bed or nightstand instead when he'd come back. He didn't really bother thinking about it when he was taking his shower and had completely forgotten about the matter once he was out of the bathroom. Junsu was greeted by an impatient Jaebeom who seemed about to strangle him.

"Relax! It's not like I was in there for more than an hour," Junsu said, holding both of hands up to stop the leader from stepping closer to him.

"Yeah because 55 minutes is definitely NOT AN HOUR!" Jaebeom glared at the younger boy.

"Technically, it is not," Junsu said as a matter of fact.

"Shut up! And you better hope there is still some hot water left for all of us!" Jaebeom yelled. "OH AND...NEXT TIME WE'LL ALL NEED TO SHOWER, YOU'LL BE LAST TO GET IN THERE!"

Junsu pouted at the leader who slammed the door shut, making Chansung, who had been watching with an amused smile playing on his lips, jump a bit. Junsu sighed at the youngest 2PM member and walked back to his beloved bedroom.

His eyes immediately glued themselves on the bed, eager to finally get a good night of sleep. That was when he remembered the stuffed toy that had been laying on his bed. It was still on his bed, looking at him with pleading sparkling eyes (It's probably only the lights, he thought).

"Junho," He called, eyes still fixated on the bed.

"Hum?" He heard from a distance, Junho was always found lying on his bed reading a book or whatever at that time of the night.

"What is this?" Junsu pointed at his bed with an expression halfway between curiosity and disgust. He heard covers shuffling and someone stumbling out of them before feeling a presence behind him.

"That," Junho started, patting Junsu on the shoulder as if he was wishing him luck. "is a polar bear,"

Junsu looked irritated, he snapped incoherent noises at Junho before speaking up with real words.

"I know what that is!"

"Then what? You don't like it?"

Junsu looked up with a frown. And yes, it was definitely disgust that could be seen in his tired features. Junho suddenly felt bad and he stared at the polar bear with disappointed eyes.

"If you don't like it I can always give it to Nichkhun instead, you know how he likes cuddling with something at night...Sorry I thought a polar bear suited you better somehow..."

Junho stretched out his arm to grab the stuffed toy.

"Give it to Nichkhun," Junsu ordered. "I don't need this kind of childish things to fall asleep,"

Junho eyed him, before stretching out his arm again, only be be stopped by Junsu's firm voice.

"You know, no matter how cute or soft the thing is, it won't help me sleep better,"

Junho nodded and his hand reached out for the polar bear once again.

"I mean, even thought it's a gift and it's nice of you, I'm not the girly kind of guy who still sleeps with a teddy bear,"

"...," Junho waited for Junsu to continue indirectly insisting how manly he was. When the older boy pouted and sat on the edge of his bed, Junho finally got a grip on the stuffed toy.

"I know a polar bear is kind of manly, but it's still a toy and it'll be bad for my reputa--"

"Aish, hide it under your bed and nobody will know!" Junho said and threw the polar bear into Junsu's more or less shocked face.

I (Mutely) Dare You To...

There was stain on his shirt. A sauce stain. Not even his stain. Taecyeon's damn accidental stain on his expensive white shirt.

And now the same stupid guy was grinning at him apologetically. He never even thought that someone could smile that way, but he surely knew that the person would look like an idiot. And that was exactly what Taecyeon looked like; an idiot.

Wooyoung glared at the tall boy, then glared at his shirt. And he did the same thing over and over again until he felt slightly dizzy from the constant shaking of his head.

"See what you've done?" Wooyoung frowned.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to," Taecyeon said, but kept the same goofy smile on his face.

Seeing his expression, Wooyoung felt his fists tighten at his sides. He suddenly grabbed noodles from his bowl and threw them violently in Taecyeon's direction. They landed right on Taecyeon's light blue vest.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to," Wooyoung faked a sorry smile and clapped his hands together for maximum dramatic effect.

"No worries," Taecyeon continued to smile and removed his vest to place it carefully in the chair beside him. Wooyoung stared, unsatisfied by the reaction his gesture caused.

An idea flashed in his mind and he started to struggle to pull off his shirt himself. Ignoring the facts that 1. his right hand made the shirt even dirtier 2. he wasn't wearing a vest, thus ended up half naked in the kitchen.

Taecyeon didn't seem bothered by Wooyoung's naked chest, he was back at eating his meal as if nothing happened. The younger boy frowned deeply and he couldn't control his hand picking up more noodle and throwing it somewhere around Taecyeon's bowl, on the table.

The tall boy raised his eyes to meet with Wooyoung's glare.

"What?"

"Can I have the sauce," Wooyoung asked angrily.

Taecyeon sighed and took the bottle with the intention of passing it to Wooyoung.

"You know there are more polite and civilized way to ask for--"

Wooyoung slapped Taecyeon's hand and made the content of the bottle spill out all over Taecyeon's shirt. The older boy looked down at his ruined shirt and then up at Wooyoung who was humming nonchalantly.

Taecyeon understood his game and also pulled his shirt over his head to feel the cold air on his bare skin.

Wooyoung tried not to look.

They were suddenly back at eating quietly, the competition was put on hold for a while. Wooyoung was the first to eat his last mouthful of ramyun and got up to place the dishes on the kitchen counter. However, as he stood up, something on his pants got stuck on the table and the next thing he knew, Taecyeon had dropped his glass of milk on his jeans.

Both exchanged a competitive look, without daring to move a muscle.

"Guys...you know I'm still here...right?" Chansung who had been watching the whole time spoke up, but it didn't seem to bring them back to reality.

"Never mind, I'll go eat in Nichkhun-hyung's bedroom," He said and hurried out of the kitchen with his food.

Early Morning Fantasy

"Okay like, if you're going to look at that window forever, can you just give me the pen right there?" Junsu asked and pointed at his blue pen on a small table beside Nichkhun.

"Huh? Ah! of course," He handed the pen to his older bandmate and quickly looked back at the window, as if he was afraid he had missed something important.

Junsu sighed and walked away, leaving Nichkhun with his nose pressed against the cold surface. His breath created mist on the window and he had to wipe it away with his hand from time to time, but still didn't give up on looking at the quiet street. The sun was faintly shining in the early morning. He was thankful for this because some times the sun was so bright it blinded him.

He glanced at the clock.

5:52.

It was a little early and he had to get ready for his busy day, but he didn't care. His eyes widened and a smile crept to his lips when a shadow appeared in the fog. He waited until he got a clearer view and his smile suddenly brightened. He stared at the person running on the street.

"Minho," He whispered in the quietness of the room.

His call seemed to get to the boy on the street because Minho turned his head and looked directly in Nichkhun's direction. Even though they were far from each other, Minho's piercing eyes almost made the glass of the window melt. He slowed down and waited for Nichkhun's next move expectantly.

Nichkhun didn't know when Minho had noticed him and he didn't know what to do. Smiling would look casual, but it would prove that he had indeed been staring at the younger boy. Looking away would look suspicious and walking away, even more suspicious. He froze and gazed at the sweaty boy who was looking back at him with amused eyes.

"What do I do now...?" Nichkhun muttered to himself, looking everywhere around him to avoid Minho's knowing eyes.

Then the younger boy smiled and waved his hand nervously. Nichkhun blushed lightly and cleared his throat to suppress the happy smile coming to his lips. It took him a while before waving back at Minho.

God, he's sexy even when he's sweaty and awkward... Nichkhun thought as he watched Minho start to run again. He followed the younger boy with his eyes until he could no longer see him because of the fog and the distance.

He grinned to himself and bit his lips to stop himself from squealing out loud.. He slowly walked to the kitchen without managing to remove the silly smile plastered across his lips. After grabbing an apple, he made his way to his room, almost walking into the wall instead of going through the door.

"What's wrong with Nichkhun-hyung?" Wooyoung asked when the older boy was out of their sight.

Jaebeom sighed in annoyance and straightened up the corner of the newspaper. He sipped at his juice before looking at Wooyoung with a face that clearly said 'you're annoying and I just want to throw my toast into your stupid face'.

"How many mornings has Nichkhun been like this?"

Wooyoung looked at the ceiling, thinking. He counted on his finger before his eyes fell back on Jaebeom.

"About a week," Wooyoung answered.

"And when did SHINee move to a new dorm near ours?" Jaebeom continued.

"About a week ago," Wooyoung said and kept the same clueless expression on his face. "So what?"

"Did you know Minho liked early morning jogging?"

"And?"

"Well I think Nichkhun likes it too,"

Underground Romance

Nichkhun is quite nice to look at, Junho noticed as they were on their way to 2PM's dorm. They had spent the day running around with their manager and they were both very tired. Luckily for them and unluckily for their manager, the day had ended earlier than expected with an urgent call from someone. In his panic, the manager had left Nichkhun and Junho alone in the building with no cars to drive back safely to their dorm.

Fortunately, they were able to catch the right subway on time. And luck really was on their side because they were now alone in the wagon, no need to hide from potential crazy fans. The older boy had taken his cap and his sunglasses off, his face was carelessly uncovered. Which brought us back to Junho's first thought about Nichkhun looking good.

"What time is it?" Nichkhun yawned.

"10:02,"

"No need to be so precise,"

"Got something better to do?"

"You have a point,"

It was silent for a while, both sitting opposite from each other. They were aimlessly watching the walls go by fast when the subway made a weird noise and stopped. The lights flickered a bit and electricity went out after a while. Junho looked around swiftly, searching for the cause of the sudden stop. Junho heard Nichkhun's footsteps and clothes shuffling near him and soon felt someone poke his side.

"What's going on?" He said, nervousness obvious in his pretty calm voice.

"I don't know, it's probably not very serious," Junho observed the doors even though his eyes still had a hard time adjusting to the darkness. "It should be back to normal soon,"

"Hmm..."

After some silent minutes, they decided that talking to entertain themselves would be good. It took some time before finding a subject, but then Nichkhun came up with a question. He hesitated before saying anything, trying to put his thoughts into words. Then he giggled and Junho could guess what kind of question was coming.

"Do you think Wooyoung likes Junsu-hyung?" Nichkhun asked, still giggling.

Junho laughed at the question and tried to catch his breath to give a coherent reply. "Their bed sheets probably know the answer better than anybody," He answered, earning a burst of laughter coming from Nichkhun.

"Ah," Nichkhun said not-so-innocently. "That's why Junsu's bed has often one pillow at night and two in the morning?"

"If you want my opinion, that is surely not magical multiplication of objects,"

Nichkhun laughed some more. "What about Taecyeon and Jaebeom?"

"I suspect the two of them. Behind the vending machine. In the dance studio," Junho smirked and felt Nichkhun hit his arm with a tired and amused groan. "What...? Never wondered why they needed two pair of hands to carry 3 bottles of water?"

"They're more obvious when we're all watching a movie and they are sleepy and insist to go to bed, pleading us to keep the volume at its highest." Nichkhun nodded to himself. "Now that is what we call subtlety,"

"So there's only you, me and Chansung left," Junho said, smiling at Nichkhun even though they could barely see each other in the thick darkness.

"For you and me it's pretty much settled," The other answered.

"Settled?" Junho's face became confused and amused. "Is it?"

Nichkhun nuzzled Junho's shoulder and chuckled in the jacket. He sneaked his way up until his chin was propped on the younger boy's shoulder. His face came dangerously closer to Junho's and the latter couldn't bring himself to turn around and ignore Nichkhun's soft breath on his lips.

As Nichkhun's face tilted to the side and their lips were almost touching, the lights flicked back on. They both sighed and chuckled. A loud voice coming from somewhere in the ceiling apologized for the incident. It didn't take 2 seconds, the subway started again. Nichkhun straightened his spine and coughed while Junho stood still with a bright blush on his face.

"I guess we'll have to find our own not-so-subtle secret meeting too, right?" Nichkhun said nonchalantly.

"Like what?"

They were almost at the right station so when the doors opened Junho tried to get up and walk out of the subway. However, was stopped by Nichkhun who pulled him back to his seat and stared mischievously in his confused eyes.

"Too bad we got lost on our way home," Nichkhun said and leaned into Junho's face when he made sure nobody could walk in on them.

"Oops," Junho smirked.

Bitter Tennis Game

"Is there chocolate syrup left?"

"Why?"

"Because I want to bath in it you stupid," Wooyoung glared at Junho. "I need some for my sundae"

"Sundae?"

"Sundae,"

"Oh...Sundae," Junho rubbed his chin, obviously thinking about eating a sundae himself.

"Yes, sundae! Do we have chocolate syrup or not?!" Wooyoung

"No," Junho replied simply, focusing back on the salad he was happily eating before Wooyoung bursted in the room, ransacking every inch of the kitchen to find chocolate syrup.

"Aah...I have to go to the store and-"

"You can't. All the stores are closed at this time of the night," Junho informed.

Wooyoung pouted and dragged his feet out of the kitchen. He sat down on the couch beside Junsu and sighed heavily, trying to attract the older boy's attention.

Junsu ignored him and kept his eyes on the tennis game playing on TV. Wooyoung watched the yellowish ball bouncing out of the lines and found it boring.

'Quarante Quinze' he heard from the TV.

He sighed again and glanced at Junsu who was still highly absorbed in the match. Wooyoung didn't know Junsu liked watching Tennis. He didn't know his hyung liked to watch sports to begin with.

'Quarante Trente'

He looked back at the screen and seeing that it was now commercials, he thought Junsu would maybe be willing to listen to his oh-so-sad and heartbreaking story. He groaned and sighed deeply.

"What?" Junsu asked, annoyed.

"There is no chocolate syrup," Wooyoung folded his arms above his chest.

"So what?"

"I want chocolate syrup,"

"Well we have no chocolate syrup so deal with it," Junsu punched his shoulder to push him aside so he could get more space on the couch.

"But I want something sweet!" Wooyoung whined.

"I don't have sweet stuff hidden under the couch. I'm sorry,"

Wooyoung seemed thoughtful, cramped at the end of the couch. He squinted his eyes and heard the crowd cheer on TV. The tennis court appeared on the screen and th

Junsu was back at watching tennis, smiles and serious faces occasionnaly making their way to his face when the tension was higher.

"Hey Junsu,"

'Deuxième manche'

"Junsu," Wooyoung pulled at his sleeve, until Junsu's colar was almost strangling him. "Hey! Junsu!"

"What is it?! Can't you see I'm watching this?!" Junsu snapped before coughing to calm himself down a bit. "What do you want?" He said more calmly.

"You've eaten all the chocolate cookies right?"

"I took the last two cookies, the rest is probably still in your stomach," Junsu said in a huff, pushing Wooyoung further away from him.

"Well you've still eaten them! I paid for those cookies! I want them back! I'll kiss the taste away from your mouth!" Wooyoung launched forward, trying to pin the older boy down to the couch, but failing. Junsu made him roll down on the floor, a victorious smile on his face. He crossed his legs and rested them on Wooyoung's stiff body. The younger boy didn't move and accepted his fate, though he wasn't that comfortable with his nose squished to the floor.

"You are..." Wooyoung managed to say after a while. "...such a heartless jerk," Junsu hit him with his heel.

"You should know that snacks always come after the show,"
