I like the purple color better, but that's just me (purple is one of my favs). I do agree about the knots as opposed to the beads - I like the knots much better.
How did you do the black spots? Are they embroidered or done with a marker, or did you sew them on? The only reason that I'm asking is that they look a good bit different than the ones on the red crown.
The black spots on the red one were plucked hunk of felt (hard) the purple ones are from my thread - get this:
I unplied the craft thread pulled off pieces about an inch or so long, stacked them into a little pile them pulled the ends apart over and over till basiclaly I had carded it with my finger and had a little pile of short hairs, and then divvied that up and tacked them down. I actually took it back to raw material, LOL! It was more fun than the felt whihc wasn't working well and not as kinda hurt from all the pinching.
OOOH! WHo did it and can you send me a pic? I would love to see what other folks are doing.
I handed out about 60 at midnight madness at pennsic last year, they went to people from ALLLL over the four corners of the world so I'm sure they got passed around.
I was thinking of doing a class at pennsic for them, but they aren't period. Just cute. And no matter what anyone says, they are a little too step intensive for kids. It's NOT a good thing for kids under 14 or so.
