Boston?

Jul 21, 2009 16:08

So I'm going to be in Boston this weekend, with baratron and her partner, and hoopycat. They're going to two Freezepop concerts, while I only have a ticket to the evening show. This gives me much of the day to wander around Boston. We're staying in a hotel in Back Bay. I do want to visit Beacon Hill, and the concert is in Allston. What else should I see nearby?

Or, it's probably too late for reservations, but there's: http://boston.langhamhotels.com/en/restaurants/chocolate_bar.htm

(Saturdays only, so this wouldn't be the group outing)

It actually looks like there might be a break from the rain tomorrow, so outdoorsy things become possibilities. Such as the traditional tourist attraction, the Freedom Trail. The trail itself is free (follow the red brick road), although several of the stops along the way will charge some sort of admission (such as the Paul Revere House, $3.50) if you want to go in and take a tour. Walking the trail is, at the very least, a lovely walk around parts of Boston.

The main branch (the old building, not the new one attached) of the Boston Public Library is also a fun trip for bibliophiles. mhw fell in love with it ( ... )
