Happy Birthday,
saraidh!
I'm sick. Jack shared his head cold, complete with nasty, scratchy throat. I'm not sure if it's worse to deal with the yuck or with the constant gag-feeling I get when I take cold medicine. I'm not sure why I get the gag-feeling, but it's there and rather annoying. *sigh* I tried taking a hot bath, and was stymied by our
hot water heater.
When we bought the house, we were told that the hot water heater had a "sitter" on it that would regulate the energy it used by allowing the temperature on the hot water heater to drop during non-peak hours. This is pr'bly not a bad thing, except that I think our hot water heater temperature is set too low so that even when during "peak" times, the water coming out of the hot tap on full is not hot enough. I shower & run baths & wash dishes with *only* hot water and have never been in danger of scalding myself, which is unacceptable. No, I don't want to scald myself, but I also want to be able to get truly *hot* water from the tap when I need it. And if I decide to take a bath during "non-peak" hours, I want the water to still be hot, not barely above room temperature.
So I need to figure out first how to turn off the power to our hot water heater, and then how to adjust the temperature. And I'm sort of tempted to just call dad and see when he could come down to do some work on the house and have him help, but I also feel like this is something that I should be able to do on my own. *sigh*
