I am loving this story so much. The glimpses into the past and the future and just awesome. I had mixed feelings about Mr. Harding by the end of this, but I think I've come back around to liking him. He reminds me a lot of my favorite teacher from high school. It makes sense that he would be protective of Annie, and obviously they've remained close enough where he feels comfortable expressing his feelings about Jeff. Speaking of, I LOVED (like, literally am in love with) your characterization of Jeff in this chapter. His reaction to Mr. Harding and his mannerisms were perfect.
I can't wait to read the rest of this! Fair warning: I'm probably going to be filling your inbox with reviews tonight :)

Thanks! I think there's a lot of some of my favorite teachers in Harding. I spent a lot of time with them and learned a lot and they had their place in my life, but even the one that I'm still very close with sometimes has trouble dealing with the fact that I have a lot of opinions that differ from his. He even likes to have a a certain symbolic approval over guys I date. (I realize this sounds like a creepy relationship but he taught me theatre, where lines are blurred, and he actually is kind of like a father figure.)

Anyway, I'm cool with my inbox being filled with reviews as long as you're cool with me replying to every single one. TWO DOWN, TEN TO GO.
