So bittersweet. I hope Colby's doing just as well as Annie. You write Annie's gradual transformation well. So touching. I did look forward to bottlecap guy. And got teary at the circumstances surrounding her most likely to succeed award.

This was so wonderful. Colby is so sweet, and the award's ceremony was perfect. I'm glad the bottlecap guy made it in. The last fic I read that featured him had him die. That's too sad for me. I think my favorite part of this chapter was that Annie just wants to be accepted. And that's why Greendale is where she belongs. Nice work!

I think I've read that one too! Actually, who am I kidding, of course I've read it. I've devoured like this entire fandom. I've made my peace with it.

I really loved in 3x07 when Annie had that little speech to Troy and Abed about always having to try so hard to fit in, and then when one episode later the Dean has that incredible realization about how Greendale is where EVERYONE fits in and I was like "SYNERGY."

One more thing I forgot-- I like that Colby's reaction to Annie's haircut kind of echoed Jeff's reaction when he saw her hair down for the first time. Apparently, Annie's hair always leaves men speechless :)

That was one of a lot of aspects of this chapter that was just a fleshing-out of a throwaway detail Annie gave us once -- that Allan didn't recognize her partially because her hair was shorter. (I've since realized that there's kind of a timeline issue but I'm explaining it away with, um, ALTERNATE TIMELINES. Or something.) So I gave her an Important Haircut. :-)
