Okay, so I don't usually do this, but this is an issue near and dear to me and this is getting very little no attention in the mainstream media ( Read more... )

The disgusting thing about this is that a LOT of women take birth control medication to regulate hormonal imbalances and the like. It's not just for preventing pregnancy, but there is a genuine medical need for a lot of women out there for such medications.

What the fuck is wrong with conservatives in this country?

What is wrong with people in this country? Please don't tell me this is some kind of religious view they're trying to shove down everyone's throats. I really don't keep up with politics so I wouldn't be none the wiser.

On the other hand, how ridiculious. How about we just make sperm have personhood status as well? A fetus is perhaps debatable--I honestly haven't educated myself enough in this aspect to give an opinion on it. Just think about the men everywhere like me who can no longer masturbate because I'd be killing teh spermz~ That's about how ridiculious this issue is. Can anyone say 1984?

Heck, the act of reproduction requires a mass genocide of sperm. One lucky sperm gets in the egg (assuming the woman is ovulating and said egg is available for penetration). The rest die a vain death, and there are millions of them.

This pisses me off. I feel sick to live in the same country where uneducated people would agree to this idiotic concept. They're so blind to all the realistic consequences of this amendment. No legal abortions, no in-vitro fertilization, no birth control, no stem cell research, and criminalized miscarriages? That's will be a complete shit storm.
