Weathertop

I'm still running, slowly but surely. I started last November and just hit 240 miles, which is a far cry from my 10 miles/week goal but is way more than 0 miles/week. My 3-mile runs aren't getting easier but at least my leg muscles aren't perpetually sore any more, unless I go a couple weeks without running (due to injury or vacation ( Read more... )

Yes it would. A co-worker of mine was on the news last year when several women had been bothered along the waterside trail where we run. A man had grabbed at a couple women but was never caught. We all watched her on the news, and couldn't help notice the camera lingering on her behind as she ran along at the end. Rude!

0-miles per week: I do understand wanting to top that goal!

Making Weathertop is awesome. As to your arm band, I can't say anything useful there. I've been using an old clip-on iPod case which I clip to the back of my shorts, since that slides around the least. I was thinking about getting an armband, but now I'm reconsidering. Don't want no Skeksis.

The armband is bad also because when I make it really tight it cuts off circulation a bit in my arm. Maybe I just need bigger muscles?
A device smaller than my iPhone would be a lot easier, but my life is complicated enough without two mp3 gadgets I have to constantly upgrade.

Maybe an iPod would work better on an armband than an iPhone if it's lighter. And although mine is annoying it's the least annoying of the options I've come up with.

I'm walking across America on my office treadmill - http://exercise.lbl.gov/index.html
Not sure where I am, exactly, but I think I'm still in Virginia. I walk only a couple miles each week. But I have been logging miles walked since I installed the treadmill some years ago - 1,084 walked thus far.

I'm glad you're still using that! I tell your treadmill story from time to time, how you guilted your boss into getting you one since he wrote a paper on their benefits. Everyone thinks it's a great idea.
If you walk by Seattle be sure to stop by. ;) 1084 miles is great.

Perhaps it would be best to get an iPod not made from Dark Crystal? Any bright lights while you run?

(am inordinately fond of that movie.)

I'm just waiting for Apple to announce the date of the Great Conjunction. I'm sure it'll be any day now!

(Also a huge fan.)
