I rolled my iPhone 3G back to OS 3 and am much happier. It took a Mac, a downloaded hack, and a downloaded OS but was quite easy. The phone isn't jailbroken, it's legit. I did have to put a bunch of stuff back on because you can't restore from an OS4 backup, but I saved off my contacts to Windows Connect and saved my photos so it wasn't too bad.

The New York Times really surprised me: double click on a word in their stories and it brings up a little question mark that lets you look up the word in their dictionary. Neat!
