Sounds more like he is just being a dick. Is there any other reason he might want you out, such as being late on the rent or complaining about the "palace" he rents out to you?

Never been late and I haven't said or heard a word from him in over a year.
He may be wanting to raise the rent or have a friend that wants the place.

dude...compaired to your place, my last apartment would have been cleaner if it was a dumpster. Either your landlord has a serious OCD complex, or he does want you out and trying to find the stupidest reasons to kick you out.
