Is anyone still here?

This entry might be lost in everyone's... what? Dash? Newsfeed? It's been a while since I've been to LJ, but since when did they call that thing a Friends' Feed ( Read more... )

thank you, 2014, welcome

OMG vex! It's me Ash aka xgrenade. Changed my lj name awhile back. Don't know if you were around for that. It's so good to hear from you!

I don't quite miss IY itself, but I do miss the community we all shared and how I looked forward to comm writing and contests and just being friends with everyone.

So anyway, I didn't realize how much older I was than you! Lol. I'm 30 now and my kids are growing like weeds.

NY Is an interesting place. I went once for a field trip, don't think I could live there, but fun all the same.

Ok I'll quit rambling now. :)

Ash! To be honest, yours was one of the journals I looked over. It was really nice to see you poking in once in a while too.

Same here! I think I liked the community a lot, and that's something that I find myself missing in other fandoms. I mean, partially that might be my fault, because a lot of people do build communities on tumblr or what have you. But I still miss this format!

Haha, 10 years isn't that old(, I say as I cringe at 10-year-olds). Honestly, though my aunt and uncle are that far apart in age. And your kids! I remember when they used to be tiny baby toddlers and now they're real people! Time really has flown by.

I think one of the things I like best about NY was a huge part of how I relate to a city has to do with whether I could get around there, and thanks to its grid system, I've always been able to find my way around NY. It gives me a great sense of belonging, which I always love.

Great to see some people still on here! I'm still lurking around currently, and being all nostalgic.

Who says the dead do not speak? Welcome back. Glad you are doing something useful with your life Which is more than I can say for myself. These days I spend more time watching anime in my spare time than actually practicing law.If not for the people I met, the last y years would seem wasted.

You were writing before I wrote my first drabble and even commented on it. I always liked your stories and appreciated that your kept many of the comms going when they should have been dead and buried.

Today I still write on 4 IY sites. iy unsung heroes. inuyasha fanfiction, ib4y2 and At First Tweak. The first three are run by Hairann while knittingknots who is writing the worlds longest IY story on ffnet called Tales of Ever After None are in great shape.

I do most of my reading on Dokuga because they are more active. Many of the IY authors have moved on to publish their own novels. I seem to the only person who has no desire to be published.

Glad to see you again Hime Wanchan

Jii-chan! I'm glad I still see you on the old communities. I saw that FirstTweak was still active, but I thought that Inuyasha Fanfic was inactive? Or perhaps it's a different IY Fanfic.

I feel like the whole exodus towards either publishing or self-publishing is the norm. It seems like there are a lot of new authors whose origin stories lie in fandom. The greatest shame is when they take down their fanfiction.

Glad to see you again, Oyaji! Any new fandoms recently?

Sorry I missed your comment. Happy belated birthday.
I have not really embraced any new fandoms other than Inuyasha. I am interested enough in Noragami, Chihayafuru and Hayate the Combat Burtler that I read the forums.
Watched welcome to the NHK yesterday. Gonzo does great work. Some of the main characters quirks hit too close to home, but not to the extent of the main character.

If you have anything, I should watch or read let me know.

Inuyahsa Fanfiction is Nile's com which had an associated LJ.
