That's one of the things I always enjoyed about Toronto. People feel anonymous enough to let it all hang out on the streets. You get to be witness to little snapshots of life that are sometimes quirky, sometimes sad, always interesting.

I think, in the smaller city I live in, there is more restraint because you never know when someone you know will walk by.

Hmm, that's interesting...I guess I don't think of Toronto as a huge city. I always feel like I'm about to run into someone I know. That happens more here than anywhere else I've ever been. I would NEVER break up with my pizza-faced boyfriend on the sidewalks of Toronto, I feel like people here are more likely to nose in, and also, my chances of seeing some obnoxious Rosedale lady from the gym are about 1 in 10. Now, in New York, I could feel truly anonymous. Just ask Lisa. I'm ashamed of some of the things we did. Just some of them, though.

I agree with Kat. I absolutely feel like I can let it all hang out. But then in Winnipeg I spent an entire year in pyjamas and cowboy boots matched with pearls! HaHaHa. In New York, well I can have sex with Gabe on the street, while giving directions to someone who has lived there their entire lives.
