LM17 Comments?

Jan 23, 2009 04:34

Post your comments, thoughts, etc here about how you feel about the Salvage LM-11's and LM-17's issued by Square Enix today. I know what I did was wrong, but I think the punishment was too harsh..

Thanks for all the positive support everyone!

The best analogy that comes to mind for this situation is ( ... )

i really think it is retarded as well, It kinda pisses me off, considerin the fact that people on this game do way worse then that. Square Enix needs to look else where, and do better shit with their time. I have been thinkin about quitin the game as well, dont really have the time for it anymore, with college and all. LoL

this is the best quote in the thread.

"the issue here is NOT whether it was right or wrong to dupe items in salvage, it’s about the lack of consistency when handling the banning and suspension of accounts."

and its tue. why can racist/botters/fishingmules/flee hackers get a slap on the wristt he 1st time, but people who disband in pty's receive a perma... ?

True* but yeah, this punishment is too much compared to their previous public relations that deal with those things.

Because they are Square Penix. They have shitty programmers who don't give a damn about mistakes because their income isn't that good so shit like this happens.

Exactly, this is basically another glitch by SE that people found out about and they're throwing ban hammers left and right without any discression as to their past, what role they played in the duping and for how long, and previous warnings against them.

I've pretty much told you how I feel about this, but for the record: Perma banning people for this with no warning is a completely disproportionate response. I think the temp bans - SOME kind of repercussion - was definitely to be expected and even desired, I think even with a 3 day temp ban, most people would be very discouraged from trying any glitch or exploit again. But they seem to have randomly picked 500 people who they SUSPECTED of using the exploit, and perma banned them; there's no reason for that at all.

I usually dont speak on what SE does because overall they still keep us playing the game so they are doing something right. I dont think its about the action that was taken for banning players who dupped items, its a bigger picture. Some not all of the banned players are the same ones who cheat at HNM's, POS hack,Cheat and steal from other players. These are the players who will do anything to get ahead. In the real world these would be your risk takers and CEO's but in SE's world thes are the people who cause havoc and disrupt the system, so you get deleted. Just my take on things.

Quite a few people have said this as well, they're happy to see some of the elitests, botters, and those who actually have caused harm to others in game get hit, but as far as I've seen, there haven't been many unfortunately.
