yeah whatever let's just do it

day 1: favorite song
Utabi - cassia angustifolia (from Manchurian Candy)

Projection using creation concept, basic structure, composition, production technique, growth experience, and accumulated years. A Reality Marble that inverts the world engraved on your soul, the embodiment of the mental world using magical theory, the world egg.
My eyeballs are squashed. My back sinks into the wall. I can't lift my hand or fingers. My blood flows backwards. My mind is bleached white. There's no pain. Feeling pain and enduring it are too human-like to happen here.
I'm melting into whiteness. My body and mind impassively crumble apart. Go forward. Why am I here? Keep going forward. For what am I here? Go to the other side. Why am I fighting? Pass through the wind and move forward.
I won't make it. I can't move, no matter how hard I try. I can't stay, no matter how determined I am. I can't move a finger, let alone make a fist. The rush of wind ruptures my eardrums. My vision fades away. Within it...
I see an unbelievable image.

day 2: least favorite song
TЁЯRA - 1/6 billionth (from Pop'n Music)

out of all my favorite songs, this one is mathematically the least. so, there you go, I guess.
also this isn't actually one of my favorite songs at all, in fact I don't really like it, but it was the only song I had that really worked for that gag. sorry.

day 3: a song that makes you happy
Rip Slyme - Blue Be-Bop (from TIME TO GO)

this is a good time, in song form. check out this music video. it's some dudes having a good time, in japan. having a good time makes me happy.

day 4: a song that makes you sad
Radiohead - Motion Picture Soundtrack (from Kid A)

music doesn't usually make me sad unless it's given context via being in a movie or tv show or something like that. this is just about the only song I could think of that is just a downer on its own. I really like it, though. I used to be pretty into radiohead back in junior high and high school. I guess I still am.

day 5: a song that reminds you of someone
Brian Lee (aka. chickensnack) - Forest (from Gear)

this song reminds me of mama luigi, because of this.

day 6: a song that reminds you of somewhere
onoken - wert (from Swell Strings)

this reminds me of the minigolf place I used to work at, because I would play this cd over our stereo while I was doing opening stuff in the morning. see also: epik high's swan songs, the first wolf's rain OST, and a bunch of instrumental guitar music my coworkers had in the cd player.

day 7: a song that reminds you of a certain event
Shu Okuyama - Nebel (from teranoid overground edition 1.04)

this song reminds me of when I let go of everything

day 8: a song that you know all the words to
The Postal Service - Natural Anthem (from Give Up)

I mostly just listen to garbage japanese music and I don't know the full lyrics to any of it so this was harder to answer than it should have been probably. I liked this album a whole lot back in high school. through various circumstances I ended up listening to it again a few days ago while I was at work, so it came to mind. I guess this is the singer from death cab. how about that.

day 9: a song that you can dance to
Polysics - Dry or Wet (from We ate the machine

in terms of dancing I'm basically these guys but I feel like, if I got myself into a situation in which dancing to this song would be appropriate, I would be able to get by.

day 10: a song that makes you fall asleep
Takagi Masakatsu - wonderland (from JOURNAL FOR PEOPLE)

it's pretty much impossible for me to fall asleep while listening to music, but here's a song that makes me feel at peace. I got into this guy because he did a handful of tracks for Lumines II, including this track, which is my official Favorite Song That Does Not Seem To Exist On Any Album In Production. I asked for this album for christmas a year or two ago because I liked his other tracks so much. it ended up not being what I expected, but I like it a lot anyways. takagi masakatsu owns.

day 11: a song from your favorite band
Zazen Boys - HIMITSU GIRL'S TOP SECRET (from HIMITSU GIRL'S TOP SECRET)

I'll take this one to mean actual band of dudes or ladies who play musics on Real People Instruments. the title of this song is really good. the song itself is also really good. I feel like if you think too hard about it while you're listening, you'll end up not enjoying it. you should try not to think too hard while you listen to this song. I like the part where he goes "ONNA NO WARAIIIII, DARE MO SHIRANAIIIII, SHIRARECHA IKENAIIIIIIIIIII".

day 12: a song from a band you hate
why the hell would I have any albums by bands I hate? that's stupid, this question is stupid. I could use a song from a bemani OST or something but that's a total copout and I'm saving that for later. forget this one.

day 13: a song that is a gulity pleasure
I dunno I don't really feel bad for liking music regardless of what it is. I guess this has to be some kind of awful j-pop song or something. let me look. oh I bet I could use bad touhou arranges! here we go
ぼいど ; 夕野ヨシミ ; 3L - Miracle∞Hinacle (from 東方想幽森雛)

this song is good, deal w/ it. also I liked this before that flash video got made so double deal w/ it

day 14: a song that no one would expect you to love
初音ミクの消失 (The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku)

oops turns out I actually like a vocaloid song. I guess it's supposed to be a sad song about uninstalling the computer girl that makes bad human voice imitations. I'm not feeling that at all but I still enjoy it for reasons I don't even want to get into. oh, but, one time in junior high I stayed home from school and watched this thing happen in realtime. I'm not going to talk about how that affected me or how I felt at the time but those two are probably related somehow.

day 15: a song that describes you
Gorillaz - Some Kind of Nature (from Plastic Beach

don't really know how to answer this one. don't think it's possible for people to see or accept the differences between what they are, what they think they are, and what they want to be. I sure wouldn't want to. here's a song though.

I'll do the second half...eventually
