“I’ve been wanting to see that movie for a while now. It was very entertaining,” Mitsuru said as they stepped out of the theatre. Akihiko smiled at her, “I’m glad you enjoyed it, Mitsuru.”
“Well, thank you for taking me out,” she replied, smiling back at him. She was glad that he was with her right now since everything seemed hectic right now in her life. Together, they walked over to the fountain, taking a seat on the bench before it. Her auburn eyes looked at him intently, “What did you think of the movie?”
“It seemed like every other road trip movie to me, no offense,” he said. She shook her head, “None taken. Even though it seemed like a typical road trip movie though, the way the characters expressed their emotions was great. The main character sacrificed everything just to go on a journey with his friends….”
Mitsuru looked down at the ground, silent suddenly. Akihiko turned, his silver eyes looking at her as she said quietly, “And then he returned to his normal life… I wonder if he was happy with that decision…”
Akihiko remained silent, even as her dark eyes looked up as him as she asked, “Have you ever thought about going to a place like that? Somewhere far away where no one knows who you are?”
He blinked, but then nodded, “I have, but I think at some point or another, everyone does.”
“Heh, you’re probably right,” she said, forcing a small laugh. They remained sitting next to each other, listening to the fountain in the perpetual silence for a moment before he asked, “Do you seriously want to leave everything behind?”
She shook her head, “Don’t misunderstand me; I don’t yearn to leave everything behind… it’s just that, sometimes, you become easily bound by things important to you. The future of the company… all my responsibilities… I wish I didn’t have so much to worry about. Sometimes I feel shackled to my name… however; I know that kind of thing is not permitted.”
She stopped for a moment, smiling sadly and looking at her hands in her lap as she muttered, “I’ve become so undisciplined, constantly complaining…”
Mitsuru laughed lightly, “I must bore you with all my griping…”
“Actually, I don’t mind,” Akihiko said truthfully, “I’m glad that you’re not holding anything back anymore. Mitsuru, you know I’m always willing to listen. I don’t want you to get through everything alone anymore…”
She looked at him, shocked by his words, but he didn’t seem to notice, “When we met in middle school, you were already carrying a heavy burden that you wanted to hold on your own. SEES was formed because your father didn’t want you to do it alone. This whole time since I’ve known you, you’re always hiding something… please know even if no one else wants to help, I will.”
He felt his cheeks flare and he looked away quickly. If he didn’t, he would’ve seen the blush on Mitsuru’s face.
“U-Uhm… Akihiko,” she stuttered. Akihiko looked at her, his cheeks still hot, but he could see the light pink hue still on her face. She seemed to shift uncomfortably under his gaze, but she just continued, “I… um…”
“There you are, Mitsuru!”
Both rose to their feet, confused, and turned towards the voice’s origin. A man, at least in his twenties or early thirties at best was walking over to them, “I’ve been looking for you.”
The man looked around, seemingly disgusted by the looks and then smirked, “I didn’t expect to find you here. We’re leaving, let’s go.”
“Wait a minute. I didn’t make any plans with you for today,” Mitsuru replied, looking at the man. The man just straightened his suit and scoffed, “Well, my business meeting for this evening was cancelled. I'm a very busy man. You're just going to have to adjust your schedule to mine.”
“I can’t…” she said. She looked at Akihiko for a moment but then turned back to the well-dressed man, “I’ve already made plans…”
“Well, you can break them,” the man said, “I don’t think you have anything more important to do than to spend time with me.”
Akihiko glowered at the man, enraged by his attitude. Mitsuru frowned, her eyes casted away.
“...Don't look so sullen. You know this benefits you as well, don't you? I thought you understood our arrangement. Now, you are to be my wife, and you are to be obedient,” he sneered, crossing his arms and then added with a sigh, “Why must you and your family always be so difficult? Well, at least your father is no longer alive. I am relieved of that. I imagine you feel the same.”
Mitsuru looked up sharply, her body shaking with fury, “How… How could you say that!?”
“Bastard! Don’t speak ill of her father!” Akihiko snarled, standing next to her. She looked up at him, alarmed, “...Akihiko.”
“Who the hell are you!?” the man snapped, “This is none of your business. Get lost!”
Akihiko didn’t back down, his shoulders tensing and his fist clenched. The man seemed a little intimidated, but his attention went back to Mitsuru, “Listen Mitsuru, cooperate management is not child’s play. No matter how smart you are, you’re still going to need my knowledge and experience. And, the Kirijo Group still needs the cooperation of my company, does it not?”
She flinched like it had been a physical attack and then sighed, “Yes…”
“…! Mitsuru!” Akihiko exclaimed, but she didn’t look at him, ashamed. The man smiled, “Good girl, Mitsuru. I knew you would listen to reason.”
He straightened his tie and chortled, “Now, let’s go. I’ve made reservations for us at a luxurious restaurant!”
“… Very well,” she said. The man turned and began to walk away, allowing her to look up after Akihiko, “I wish you hadn’t seen that, Akihiko. Well, thank you. I had a lot of fun today… and… I’m sorry…”
She turned away, “Please, excuse me…”
Akihiko remained motionless, watching her as she started to walk away. At once, he was in a mental conflict, but his body seemed to know exactly what to do. He reached out and grabbed her hand, causing her to stop, “Mitsuru! Wait…!”
“Stop, Akihiko…” she whispered, slowly looking back at him. Her expression was pained, “I know how you feel… I…”
The man walked back, causing both young adults to turn. He seemed annoyed, “Let’s go, Mitsuru.”
Akihiko felt her hand slip from his grasp slowly and she walked forward again, standing next to the man’s side, her head bowed. Akihiko lower his gaze to the ground, his body aching, but the man address his suddenly, “By the way you! What business do you have with her? You should know you’re place in society.”
He looked Akihiko up and down, shaking his head, “An ordinary person like you is not fit to interact with people like Mitsuru and myself. Don’t you understand? You’re just a nuisance. I can’t believe this.”
Akihiko, frankly, couldn’t believe he hadn’t punched the asshole yet, especially as he started hissing at Mitsuru, “If you continue to befriend derelicts such as this, Mitsuru…”
“That’s enough…”
Both men looked up, surprised, more her fiancé than Akihiko.
“Mitsuru…?”
“I said that’s enough!” she exclaimed, “I won’t let you insult him!”
“W-Why are you getting so angry!?” he yelled, expecting her to back down, but she just stepped forward, “If you insult him, you insult me!”
“M-Mitsuru! What are you talking about!?” he exclaimed, grabbing her hand. She ripped it away and glared, “How dare you say he should know his place! You can’t even compare to him! I... I want to… be with him… now… and forever!”
“Y-You want to be with HIM!? Now and forever…? What are you talking about!?” the man exclaimed, but Akihiko couldn’t be more relieved, but he became more enraged as the man grabbed her wrist roughly, “You’re my fiancée! You think I am inferior to this hooligan!? I suggest you retract your statement, Mitsuru… I will only forgive you if you apologize this instance! Think about the future of your company!”
“I will NOT apologize! I want to be with him,” she snarled, ripping her hand away again. She returned to Akihiko’s side, hissing, “You don’t care about me or how I feel… The Kirijo Group can stand on its own. We don’t need any help from a person like you. From today on, you and I are strangers.”
It was the man’s turn to flinch, but he didn’t leave, “I will not accept this! You choose a delinquent over me!? This is how your advisors said you would act, but you’re just like that dead father of yours!”
Obviously, he hit a nerve, but Mitsuru wasn’t the first to act.
POW!
The man flew back, hitting the ground with a heavy thump. Akihiko rolled his wrist as the man looked up, dazed. Akihiko leered and said darkly, “I told you not to speak ill of her father. And for future knowledge, I’m the captain of Gekkoukan’s boxing team… get lost…”
“Ahhh…” the man rose to his feet, shaking, “Grandfather!”
He ran off, leaving the two behind. Akihiko turned to Mitsuru, finding her to be silent once more, her cheeks bright red, “Um… I-I…”
She took a step back, but Akihiko caught her hand before she could run, “M-Mitsuru… I’m sorry I did that. It’s just… I couldn’t stand him talking about you or your father like that…”
“N-No… it’s just, I shouldn’t have behaved that way,” Mitsuru said, looking down. Suddenly, she smiled, “To be honest, I was about to do the same thing… well, if you didn’t do it first.”
“Really? Heh…” he chuckled, scratching his head with his free hand. Akihiko looked at her, his silver eyes flashing, “Mitsuru… w-what were you trying to say before t-that guy came?”
Her eyes widened and her cheeks flushed. Secretly, she had been wishing that he would’ve forgotten about it, but then again, he had been listening intently earlier. They were facing each other now, his hands holding hers and they were gazing deep into the other’s eyes. They seemed to be moving closer as she tried to answer, “I… I wanted to say…”
“Shh… I was kidding. You don’t have to anymore…” Akihiko whispered, cupping her face gently. Her cheeks became darker, but she didn’t hesitate as he came forward.

Minato was talking with Yukari and Junpei when he paused, a voice singing something about Empress and Emperor Social Links being maxed. He was confused. Hadn’t he finished maxing the Emperor link a while ago? And the Empress link… He blinked, finally understanding and smiled.
Yukari and Junpei just looked at him strangely…
