Check with your state's Department of Rehabilitative Services. Sometimes they have a Visual Services department within that can help with that. If not, DRS should be equipped to handle VI cases.
I'm VI and it took me a while to find a job even though it's a non paying job. It's experience tords my major of choice in college. I however got lucky when my old academic/disability advisor from the community college informed of of the job opening.I walked in looking real decent and with a warm personality and a interest in the job they gave it to me. It is a huge company so more voluenteers might be hired if they so desired but as I know of that was the only in building position I can think of. So look in every place, if he has state and county case workers for blind/vi then by all means they'll help you. If he knows someone who works in the field who might help him in finding a job in his interest then use that too. It's not gonna happen over night, my oppurtunity came 2 years after leaving school.
