2010 Meme

1. What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before?

So much! Aerial Acrobatics! Canadian Fringes!

Plus, I had my first sold-out show. And I learned to play Scrabble. And use a netty pot.

Also, cocaine.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

Same as last year pretty much. And same results. I think I'm going to add "cooking" to the mix.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

I don't remember meeting any brand new humans this year. Maybe it was months ago and I've forgotten. I have a poor sense of time.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

My grandmother, Vivian Glover. We weren't super close, but she was an awesome lady.

5. What countries did you visit?

Canada!!!! Five times! Though two of those times were separated only by a couple of hours.

6. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Selling out shows in Fresno and Vancouver; mastering new moves in aerial acrobatics; being logistics coordinator for Tellabration!; driving across the country -- twice.

7. What was your biggest failure of the year?

Got my heart pretty thoroughly mangled. Probably my fault; got my hopes up too fast. Which made summer touring by myself oh-so fun -- especially since I couldn't call my friends back home without getting charged 70 cents a minute. Yeah, that was awesome. Good times.

8. What do you wish you'd done more of?

Running. I had to stop because my hip was giving me trouble. Still is. Grr.

9. What do you wish you'd done less of?

Sugar.

10. What was your greatest musical discovery?

Serena Ryder.

11. What kept you sane?

Awesome friends, and exercise. And coffee shops. Working at home all day can drive a person pretty batshit.

12. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010.

It's not like I didn't know before that it takes time to really get to know a person and that people might turn out to be significantly different from how they initially seem. Everybody knows that. But there's knowing and then there's knowing.
