As most of you know, or well, maybe you don't know, taking NUSC 165 has made me into a nutrition addict. I still eat things that are horrible for me but I'm constantly calculating nutrients and vitamins in my head. The E.coli scares were actually not only in organic spinach - but regular spinach as well. Bacteria is not dealt with in produce, but in meat. Produce is sprayed to kill pests and viruses, but it is not sprayed with antibiotics which are needed to kill bacteria ( ... )

It definitely is a person-to-person choice. Every food has its benefits and drawbacks. Some greater than others. I just wish people would be educated about their choices. It is up to the person whether they embrace organic foods rather than foods that are processed and then fortified & enriched to replace nutrients lost in the process. I just want people to take a look at what they're eating either way. So many foods are altered so that they can last longer on shelves...hence the abundance of saturated fats in our food. Companies are hydrating our foods so that it will last longer in the stores. So yeah, I'm rambling. But I agree, it is definitely a personal choice. And I guess my point is that I wish people would be aware of what they're putting in their mouthes. It would do the world good to take a basic nutrition class and learn something about what they're ingesting. Haha ( ... )
