[Written with a quill:]

Which writing instruments do you generally favor?

[Written with a ball-point pen:]

Are they the same you could find in your worlds?

[Written with a graphite pencil:]

Also, what are all of these named?

[Written with an ink brush:]

Rydia, I'll need to speak to you.

It depends on what I'm writing. I usually use a pen or a pencil.

[For like working on his schedule.]

But if I'm doing calligraphy, I prefer a quill.

Do you favor any particular ink type or color? A specific pen or pencil?

I prefer just black ink. It's simple and yet can make amazing things. But for pens, I prefer ball-point pens. They're neater. Pencils, just the normal writing type pencil will do.

[Before April, their writing instruments were probably whatever they found in dumpsters, or at the dump. Or even in sewer water. But Luceti's giving him much more variety.]

You say that ball-point pens are neater. As compared to what? Are there any pencils that are not the normal writing type?

[By the type he's through with this, there might be a shortage of anything that even remotely looks like it could be used to write.]

[Well let's hope the stores replenish them quickly.]

Compared to other pens. Some other types of pens, the ink runs or too much comes out, making it hard to read.

There are types of pencils mostly used for art, like the colored ones. Many aren't really made to write with.

Would the type of paper also influence your choice of pen?

...Many can express their feelings more openly with art. Colored pencils might be useful, too.

It would, yes. Some pens seem to work better on some papers then others.

Definitely. There has been a lot of great artists out there. But art in pencil is a good place to start.

I'll have to look for instruments that work well with that particular paper, then.

What about those waxy colored sticks? Are they also use in art?

What kind of paper are you working with?

Waxy colored sticks? Do you mean crayons?

It looks overly white and smooth. Somewhat like the one used for the journals.

Is that what they are called?

Oh, I see. Most pens or pencils work on it.

Yeah. They can used for art, or writing. They're usually used by children.

Considering the number of children in the village, taking a few would be a good idea. Thank you for your help.
