Hmm.... I think a stew would be easier.

[She's guessing from having watched Stella make supper, anyway. Grune doesn't do a lot of non-sweets cooking.]

Yet it would turn badly if it was over- or undercooked, would it not?

I think so. But I think that would happen with a roast or a meat pie, too.

I suppose I'll simply have to test it every so often, then.

I don't know if it's easier, exactly, but I'm in the mood for a good stew.

In that case, I can try my hand at it.

If you want some help or just company, I'd be happy to join you.

I'd appreciate it. What sort of meat should we use?

A roast would be easiest, right? I mean, all you gotta do is season and cook the thing, right? How hard can that be?

Icould adjust the seasoning by taste, but I've little experience with the oven. I'm not certain which temperature would cook it properly without leaving it dry.

Well, that really depends on the size of whatever it is you're trying to cook. [Guess who's been doing the cooking in light of Stella's return? She's not a pro, but she knows a few things.] If you need help with the oven, I could blow on through and give you a hand, CC! Just think of it as a favor repaid.

...What are you trying to cook, though?

It appears the household is voting for the stew at the moment, but I doubt the roast I brought back will be wasted. I'd still welcome any advice for the oven, though.

Stew.

Is there anything to watch for, other than the time it spends on the oven?

I'm not a cook.

I see. Still, your answers seems to match the general opinion.

Likely a stew would be easiest.

[ and there's mention of those missions. ]

Have you been sent on one of their missions?

As long as I remember to taste it often, perhaps...

Not yet, but it is rather tempting. The stores have not yet brought some of the supplies I'm used to, and those patches could also be quite helpful.

It shouldn't be too difficult.

I've only just heard of them... what do they entail, exactly? Do you know much about them?

We work for them in exchange for points or goods from our worlds, more or less. We can retrieve corpses, battle their foes, willing participate in experiments... They seem to want as many people as possible to participate.
